I was very happy to see the nude scene, but was hoping for more. Lots of figleafing 😞 Apart from that, I've been very disappointed in this last season. It seems incoherent - every episode is a different crisis resolved in that episode, rather than the story arcs that previous seasons had.

Based on hearing that it was like "Hitchhiker's Guide" combined with "Project Hail Mary", I started "We Are Legion (We Are Bob)" by Dennis Taylor, first of the "Bobiverse" series. It's good so far, about 100 pages in. It reminds me of some other science fiction books I've enjoyed (mostly "World Out of Time", early Larry Niven) and as promised, it's pretty funny.

I can't imagine that I would flat-out quit, but I've definitely slowed down since I started in my mid-20's. Less desire as I get older, a bit more careful about money, and much pickier about finding a guy I would hire.

Off-topic, but was that perhaps "The Mote in God's Eye"? Science fiction novel by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle, one of the supporting characters was a trader who was very knowledgeable in coffee.

I started last night and I'm about halfway through. I am somewhat in agreement with the frenetic/chaotic comments. This seems like early Schitt's Creek where the main characters were almost too awful to watch, before they developed further. I'm wondering if his has enough time to make the characters any more sympathetic.

I have just one real oven, but my toaster oven is on the larger side and has a lot of settings. I've become a real fan of the "Keep Warm" setting for just gently warming something up without worrying I'll leave it in too long.

I just found out one of my favorite science fiction authors, John Varley, died in December 2025. I enjoyed so much of his work and I'm sad we'll never get another book about Cirocco Jones.
