Whoisyourdaddy reacted to Bargara Leatherboy in Retiring to Vietnam to be upper middle class for only $1,000 x month?
As Australians who holidayed in Bali a lot, we often thought that we would like to retire there.
Medically the hospitals seemed great, but when you investigated - you would not want to be sick and in any Bali hospital - (even the international medical centres developed for the tourist trade).
While an expat visa looked good, you had to prove income, AND hire one local on a full time wage. ($300 per month) they would drive for you, cook, clean and garden. Plus they would shop in the local market for you at local price not expat price.
Then you looked at rental properties, most were on a 10 year lease, and it was expected that you paid the 10 year lease up front ( no refund if you did not stay the 10 years) . Bearing in mind that your expat visa lasts for 5 years and you can only hope it will be renewed so you can live out your lease ....
Banjar fees. (local council). the local Banjar required taxes or fees to be paid monthly - this was to ensure that you got decent treatment and were not black listed, for services .
Medical insurance, plus the need to fly to Singapore or Australia for any decent medical treatment.
When you add all of this up- it was easier to stay in Australia and take long holidays ....

Whoisyourdaddy reacted to + cougar in Somebody Really Wants to Scam Me. What Should I Do?
Anytime I need to deal with a company, I have found it was always best to reach them directly through their website. Be careful with trying to google a company to get their contact information as I have seen news reports about people doing that and not realizing they did not select the correct info on their google searchj. Good luck as I too am having a difficult time following your situation.

It wouldn't hurt to run this through chatgpt to get advice. I can't imagine how your new phone got hacked. Also, I would definitely go to where you purchased it and tell them what happened. It is possible when you came AmEx, you Googled and got a number which was really a scam number? Did you call the number on the back of your card?

Whoisyourdaddy reacted to maninsoma in Somebody Really Wants to Scam Me. What Should I Do?
I also don't understand it.
A brand new phone purchased from Best Buy wouldn't be compromised.
I wouldn't waste money on LifeLock. You can just contact the credit reporting bureaus and put a lock on your credit. The only problem is having to remember to unlock if you decide to apply for a new card/loan.

First turn off your phone. Restart it in safe mode - you may need to wipe it and restore it from the cloud but first you need to change your passwords- so switch to a different device and reset all your passwords on email accounts and all financial apps credit cards and other sensitive apps
if you change your passwords on a different device you should be able to take a breath.
next - Get lifelock immediately.
then either get a malware removal app or wipe it and restore your data minus the malware

Yeah you have to really careful. The fake sites are very real looking. If you aren't careful about checking the URL to make sure it syncs with the real one, it is easy to be fooled. AI may make this worse in the future.

Whoisyourdaddy reacted to samhexum in They didn't crash. They stopped. They both just died there.
The daughter of classic movie director William Wyler has been found dead alongside her husband in their parked car.
Judith Sheldon, 84, and Wylie Sheldon, 86, were discovered in their Jeep on California's Interstate 5 near Redding on 15 June, the same day an extreme heat warning was issued. Temperatures reached 109 degrees Fahrenheit (almost 43C).
The California Highway Patrol said in a statement that both parties were pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities revealed that their car's engine was running, and the fan was high, but the air conditioning wasn't working. There was also no water in the car.
Judith and Wylie, who met at Stanford University, were on their way to meet their friend David Smith in Oregon to attend Ashland's Shakespeare Festival. Smith told The New York Times: "They didn't crash. They stopped. They both just died there. The entire thing is so bizarre. We're still in a state of shock."
Whether the heat was the cause "may be determined" by an autopsy, with Tim Mapes, Shasta County Sheriff's Office spokesman, stating: "We'll just have to wait and see."
Judith's father, William Wyler, is the most nominated director in Oscar history, having won three Academy Awards for wartime drama Mrs Miniver (1942), romance The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) and religious epic Ben-Hur, and received a further nine nominations for films including Roman Holiday (1953), starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck, and 1958 Western The Big Country.
Judith – one of Wyler's five children from his marriage to Margaret Tallichet – had a small role in The Best Years of Our Lives and Roman Holiday, appearing alongside Peck in a scene set by Rome's Trevi Fountain.
During Wyler's career, he directed 14 actors to Oscar wins, including Bette Davis (Jezebel, 1938), Olivia de Havilland (The Heiress, 1949) and Barbra Streisand (Funny Girl, 1968). Wyler, one of the most versatile filmmakers in Hollywood history, died in 1981, aged 79.
Judith, who chaired the board of the San Francisco Silent Film Festival, would often bring her father's Oscar trophies to parties, where attendees could pose with them. Judith and Wylie, a former lawyer, are survived by their sons.

Whoisyourdaddy reacted to Rayphactor in How often is extra 💵 being given for “nearby” travel meets
Agree. If a provider I was interested in said they have travel costs to account for, I would not be offended at all. I totally get the fee is for the time provided, and if he has to travel an hour to get to me, I'd have no problem tipping extra.

Whoisyourdaddy reacted to + KensingtonHomo in Assessing a (New) Providers Profile.
This is very important. I'm not sure if it's only premium members, but on RM, you can look up a reviewer's profile and see their other reviews. I like this because you can easily tell who is real and who is suspicious. People were recently asking about how to evaluate a new provider. Well, if they're reviewed by someone on RM with a bunch of reviews that are solid, that's as good - to me - as someone on here. And I did recently end up hiring someone despite their having one bad review out of three, because the client had given EVERYONE bad reviews.

The tactic is annoying as fuck. The only way I found to avoid it: don’t post your phone number as “public”, and only do for registered users. The system will usually filter out fake bot accounts before they can actually contact you directly.
The caveat to that is, less clients may be able to reach you because not everybody is signed up as a client to see phone numbers. I’ve gone back to leaving my number public because I have 2 phones to help. But it’s annoying everytime it happens. Another example of why there needs to be a better system in place.
This does remind me of couple months ago when I was in Florida, I saved a client from a $2,000 scam in which the “executive chief officer” of APPLE/CHASE BANK claimed to call him, along with the FBI, saying his account was hacked and that he needed to go to Best Buy (poor company, being the target of scams lol) with his laptop to have them clear the lock.
I drove him to Best Buy 20 minutes away, and he got there and they asked for 4 separate $2,000 gift cards. He tried to buy it, but Best Buy said there was a limit. When he came out and told me that (all the while on the phone with the scammers, who sounded like from India): I told him HANG UP THE PHONE NOW. And let’s go to Chase Bank to speak to someone. They were trying to get him to not tell me all the details, but had I known I would have immediately told him hangup, block the number and contact the # of the customer service for Apple and Chase.
(it was one of those fake, “your account is hacked emails from “Apple” and he opening it, called them etc etc)
Turns out, his account was never hacked. But he almost brought and sent $2,000 of gift cards. I took him to Chase Bank because he was recently in an accident with his regular car (But in Florida a golf cart is kinda like a car lol).
He ended up thanking me with dinner, a bottle of wine and an evening session. I was like damn, sometimes we can really do good for people that they don’t know we can do.

Whoisyourdaddy reacted to SecretProvider in Scam alert!
This is a scam network has been doing for years. They are based in Nigeria. It's a whole syndicate with teams of people working. When they message using whatsapp or signal they always use business accounts.
They work on two fronts - one is setting up fake accounts on RM and getting clients to send large deposits.
The second arm of the scam is to contact providers - They message pretending to want a booking - do all the right messages - then when you are 10 minutes away: suddenly they tell you they need you to pick up a drink and type of card to 'occupy their children.' They need you to send it to them before you come up.
This happens to us almost WEEKLY. I have thought about starting a thread with them to show why I require deposits now.
The other line we get is "i love your pics and I am an artist and I want to use them in a mural! I can pay you for the rights, i just need to pay you by cheque,......i will send you cheque, you deposit it and then you can send me half of it."
"hey i am looking for a text buddy,,,,, will you be happy to take allowance of $500 a week"
"hey I am looking to make a 3 hour booking!"
They message us almost daily. Sometimes more than once a day. As soon as you ask for a deposit they disappear.

Whoisyourdaddy got a reaction from Jacob_b in What we look like - Why does it matter so much now?
The last guy who asked me for a picture stood me up for another client. I walked past them in the hotel lobby. For the record, he had negative reviews on RM and here, so I was being foolish.
What made me most upset was that he made me go to the hotel. I wasted a week talking with him and then another day trying to meet him.

Whoisyourdaddy got a reaction from Jacob_b in Swallowing Yes/No
I love the intimacy of swallowing, but it's not a requirement.
The second to last guy whose cum I swallowed was so sweet afterward. He grabbed the door for me, pulled out my seat, got my napkins and plasticware when we went out to eat/drink (Starbucks), and told me his life story.

He's truly a remarkable figure. His guidance has blessed humanity with a half century the most stable inflation, low unemployment, and broad economic prosperity unmatched in probably any century of human history. He is missed, but he has lived a long and rewarding life.

Whoisyourdaddy reacted to Becket in Am I to assume the provider cums or doesn’t cum?
Well, to state the obvious here: We all know what happens when you ASSuME.
But no, I don't think his orgasm is required. It's fine. It's nice. But that's not his job, unless you specifically tell him in advance what is required in the session. Then he can decide whether or not he is able, or willing, to comply.
Don't ever assume anything. You end up making.......well, you know.

Whoisyourdaddy reacted to + PhileasFogg in Alan Greenspan has died
His manuevering through the '87 stock market crisis was phenomenal
He manuevered through two decades of low inflation through multiple presidencies and vast political swings in electorate
He manuevered through the post 9/11 crisis
He led the Fed's mandate of "full employment" for a historically long period
The soft landing in the 90's was skillfully executed
He was an articulate influencer
Barney Frank had more to do with the Great Recession than Greenspan - policies driven outside the Fed through the FHLB, Freddie, and Fannie - were far more problematic than fed policy.
To call him a ghoul is harsh not to mention tacky

Would be beyond shocked if she is somehow found alive. It is more likely whoever took her has already ditched her body after the case drew way more attention than they bargained for. Sad way for her final chapter to end.
