Why is it always the least exceptional looking masseurs who are the ones screening clients for looks? If looks were important, I doubt he would accept himself as a client. To each their own, I suppose, but I find it ironic that the beautiful guys are accepting and these average looking providers have a laundry list of requirements.

I’d expect fresh flowers, somewhere to hang my clothes, some candles for atmosphere, music playing (something classical, I find Mahler or Debussy quite good for massage), Egyptian cotton sheets on the bed of course (not too high a thread count…I’ll judge you on that) and a phone charger should my phone be running low. Payment should be done discreetly afterwards (I find it awkward to ask so please offer it as I dress, in cash). 
Seriously though….all I look for with an out call is a clean and tidy room, space for my table (if I’ve bought it), no distractions and the possibility to shower afterwards. It sounds like you have all that and more covered!

for providers - serious question, how do you take care of your sexual health with the current standard of unprotected sex ?  I’m not talking about hiv because that’s almost irrelevant w Prep and most positive gay men on meds.  But that leaves a lot of STIs that can still cause major problems/discomfort.
for me, condoms aren’t a moral question or decision but rather a practical one.  I just don’t want to spend unnecessary time going to the doctor, testing & then meds if I should be exposed to an sti.  
i can remember a phone call from a provider years ago saying he had an sti and I should go get tested.  I appreciated the call & sure enough - I had it too.  Ever since then it’s been condoms for me - it just seems that mixing with so many people it would be statistically difficult to manage sexual health.

My understanding of DoxyPep is that it’s useful after occasional unprotected sex, but not meant as a routine - maybe I’m misinformed on that - and that really only treats Chlamydia & Syphilis, not gonorrhea and all the others.

I don’t think anyone actually likes condoms - some people are just more risk averse than others.  And almost nobody discusses or acknowledges contracting an STI.  Honestly, this is my biggest hangup about sex.  
My sense is established professional providers are more on top of their sexual health than the average person - just another reason why I avoid the apps and prefer paid encounters.  
I’ve found almost nobody wants to discuss this subject in personal terms - it’s always in the abstract and seemingly unrealistic w very little acknowledgement of the real world. It could be my fears are unfounded - and if that’s the case, I’d like to get perspective on that too

For the majority percentage of my hiring years, I was obese, 300+ pounds. I’ve been height/weight proportionate since 2009.
Almost *never* did I have a problem with a provider either escort or masseur turn me down. Yes, I was always upfront with my weight, but again can’t remember being turned down too often. I’m a big believer in my self-confidence and easygoing manner making providers comfortable with me.
There was one masseur who clearly wasn’t comfortable with overweight guys. He felt his table wouldn’t hold me up, other excuses, etc. I tried a couple times and was turned down. Fast forward 90 days or so…he reached out to me and said let’s try. I don’t know if his rent was due or whatever….but we met, had a great sensual/erotic massage…and continued to see each other for two years 🤣

Actual cases of legal action against someone hiring an escort fall into two categories.
#1 Election years where a "family values" candidate wishes to make a mark.
#2 Election years where an opposing party wishes to being down an incumbent by exposing his hiring habits.
Hoping this comment isn't viewed as being too political. I think not..because these issues aren't specific to either of the two major political parties in the US. It's just the way things are here in the US and how the laws of prostitution tend to be applied.
 

You asked about legal problems.  Apart from a couple of stories I've read about online (i.e., no personal knowledge), I think that risk is very low. 
What seems to be a larger risk is extortion or, at least, attempts at extortion.  If you have a lot to lose if your hiring habit becomes known to others, then someone attempting to extort you puts you at risk.  That's why you'll see some here advocating the use of a burner phone and never meeting anyone where they live.  I didn't take either of those precautions and never had anyone try to extort me, but I did almost hire someone whom I subsequently read about here who did threaten to expose clients to their families.  I felt like I dodged a bullet there even though I don't think that being exposed to colleagues or family would have caused any problems for me other than whatever gossip people might have engaged in following the disclosure.

As long as you have your head on your shoulders, there's not a ton of risk in my opinion. Nothing revolving this is 100% guaranteed, but tons of people here have been hiring for decades. Overall, just stick to well reviewed guys and you should be okay. Avoid new guys without reviews, because those are going to be the kind of guys who you'd be likely to get more trouble from. That's not to say that new guys should be avoided at all costs, but if you're risk averse then that makes the most sense.
