  1. I'm thinking of removing the jetted tub in my master and expanding my shower. If I do so, the shower would include a bench.
  2. When I was decorating my condo, the decorator hired the handyman to install the window treatments and lights. I did not complain when he asked me to spot him while he was installing the light fixture in the living room. As he reached overhead, his waistline dipped enough to confirm he was commando - - and I did nothing.
  3. With the inability to guarantee continuing operations, the businesses would not qualify for the debt forgiveness provisions under PPP. The attestation that the business owners must execute has many small businesses choosing not to take the PPP as they realize that they must return to previous employment levels to receive full debt forgiveness, and with the uncertainty of returning business, owners are not confident they can maintain pre-Covid employment levels.
  4. Today I had my quarterly checkup to continue my Truvada prescription. As part of the check up I was asked about my sexual activity since my last check up. Since I've been under stay at home orders for over two months, it was a short conversation. After finishing my background, my physician pointed out that by the end of this week, I will have passed 90 days since my last sexual partner and asked if I had considered donating blood as I would be eligible. I hadn't given it any thoughts. For years, before I was enjoying same sex encounters, I was a regular donor. Haven't decided what I will do yet, but just might make an appointment to donate next week. Has anyone else taken the opportunity to donate due to extended abstinence?
  5. My cleaning service was providing someone every other week. With the work from home orders, and the confidential nature of some of my business phone calls, I haven't felt it appropriate to have someone in to potentially overhear the calls. Since I canceled with only 24 hours notice the first week, I made arrangements to pay the cleaner scheduled for my place then. But I have not been paying since then.
  6. One of the side effects of my new 'work from home' mandate is now I am eating every meal from home. I usually eat lunch from the cafeteria, eat dinner out a couple of times during the week, and again once during the weekend. As such, I'm not doing a great job of once a week grocery shopping and have probably been 'overbuying.' This morning, I did an inventory of the refrigerator before heading out. I discovered a bag of baby spinach that I had forgotten about buying and I hadn't eaten all of the blueberries I bought last week because they were BOGO. And I didn't use all of the red, yellow, and green peppers. I decided today to try more frozen dinners, so hopefully I will have less waste.
  7. I will plan to be there.
  8. At the store there was a Big X by the register for me to stand on... I've seen to many Road Runner cartoons to fall for that one.
  9. Welcome to 'active' membership of the Forum @wsc.
  10. I understand that the chain is following the state-specific guidelines. There are some states where they are requiring all to wear them. I will say that yesterday, all employees I saw were wearing masks.
  11. Today I went to the Meijer I've been primarily using since the start of 'stay at home' order. I pulled into the parking lot at my normal time and was surprised to see the parking lot pretty full, reminding me of a typical morning of Dec 24 crowd at the grocery. I realized as I walked in, it might not be quite as full as it appeared many cars were also practicing social distancing. I only needed a few items today, as my build up of frozen options is still full, so I only focused on perishables - milk, meat, blueberries, bread, and ice cream. (Yes, ice cream does not last long in my condo, so it is a perishable.) I made my quick trip through a couple of aisles and was surprised to get the self-check registers to discover there was actually a line. At least 10 in front of me for the six registers. As I'm standing there, it dawns on me while it is so crowded. More than half of the customers ahead of me have flowers and Mother's Day cards. So while not Christmas Eve, it is tomorrow's holiday and something folks appear excited to be able celebrate.
  12. @purplekow - You've been sharing your heartfelt journey the last few weeks, and I have appreciated it. Today one of my childhood and college friends, an ER physician in Indianapolis, posted this article on Facebook. You and Dr. Profeta are the only folks I know working emergency medicine, so I thought I would share perspectives. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/how-america-saved-us-from-covid-19-louis-m-profeta-md/?fbclid=IwAR1Q_U7DSnkdF07PGh4BHmlXqA2JoN2PEHBw_dCJUphgrzObKs7PRz3sw_E
  13. At my office, the plan will be to gradually return the team to work over the next 90 days with most of the team still working from home each day. While masks would be requested, accommodations will be considered for those that express concerns about wearing one. Refrigerators and microwaves can be used, but you are expected to clean the microwave after using. And you will need to wipe down the copier/printer if you use it. And elevators will be limited to two concurrent riders. Fortunately we already have dividers between urinals in the men's room. However, if there is a line, it needs to be outside the rest room at the six feet distance. (It seems in my area of the office, we must all be on the same meeting schedule and have meetings wrap up and we all sprint to the men's room at the same time so there is always a line at the top of the hour.)
  14. I've had a long-standing agreement with a friend that if I have a long hospital stay where my survival is in question, he will come to my condo and clean this stuff out so that my family does not need to do so.
  15. Sorry I missed it. I had attended the first two, but simply forgot about the one last night.
  16. I had the option to take a $0.40 per gallon discount on the gas. I started to accept it, but decided to save the discount when I noticed the price was $1.59.
  17. Same thing for me. I'm interested and just waiting for the pandemic to pass.
  18. I'm wondering if his decision to do this now has anything to do with his mother's passing last summer.
  19. Today I made my weekly grocery trip; however, I went to the Giant Eagle versus the Meijer store I've got to the last six weeks. I went to GE because my bank has a branch in that one and I received a small check that I needed to deposit in the ATM. On a Saturday morning, it was pretty empty. Everyone in the store - customer and employee wore a mask. One-way directions in the aisles and half the customers were not following them. Found everything I was looking for except Egg Beaters I use to make frittatas. (I haven't found them in four weeks now.) After picking up everything I needed, I stopped for gas. I hadn't filled the tank since Mar. 12 and in that time I had only driven 185 miles. (I'm usually refueling weekly.) It's been so long it took me a moment where the button was to release the gas cap.....
  20. I too am enjoying it. And the celebrities are "A" list.
  21. I think that is a stretch that while in the long-term is probably true - the franchisor does benefit from the franchisee remaining in operation; most franchisees are small businesses owning one, sometimes two locations. For many, it takes several years before they recoup their initial investments and even then do not have a reserve to sustain the business through the a long shut down like we're currently experiencing. Most professional sports teams actually have fewer than 500 employees, and the NBA is probably closer to 250.
  22. This one came on Sirius XM radio as I was headed to the grocery this morning. "Ease on Down the Road" from "The Wiz." https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=stephanie+mills+ease+on+down+the+road&view=detail&mid=530D70FADA54C13FB64A530D70FADA54C13FB64A&FORM=VIRE0&ru=%2fsearch%3fq%3dstephanie%2bmills%2bease%2bon%2bdown%2bthe%2broad%26form%3dEDGNTT%26qs%3dAS%26cvid%3dadaaaccf99fb48d2bd7644168bd7aa04%26refig%3d38efb5db480b45e091f71c1984cd39dc%26cc%3dUS%26setlang%3den-US%26plvar%3d0%26PC%3dHCTS
  23. Ceiling mirrors are great, aren't they? It's been years since I was in a room with one, and you've reminded me to find one after this stay at home order expires!
  24. I made my weekly grocery trip to Meijer's today. The produce section continues to be well stocked and the product looks great. This was the first time I've seen toilet paper on the shelf in over a month. While I have enough to last a few more weeks, I went ahead and bought a package even though it was not my preferred brand. It was only when I got home did it realize it was a "mega" roll-size package; that size is too big (imagine me complaining about something being too big) to fit on my toilet paper holder.
