  1. Boy, nobody can roll their r’s like ‘the little sparrow of Paris’.
  2. Have you ever read ‘A Moveable Feast’ by Ernest Hemingway? He did move to Paris after WWI and stayed about 7 years or so. He found his literary voice there. He was also smart to leave when the going was still good. He found other places to live that inspired him to write great fiction and appealed to a broader audience. Still, I can appreciate your regret. Paris has so much to offer.
  3. Yeah, I had the same experience in undergraduate school. Struggling with my sexuality and not exploring my gay side except through reading and seeing some gay films. Graduate school was a different experience. While still closeted, I started having sex with guys and it started the process of my accepting who I was. Even after graduation and starting my work life, it took another 4 years before finally ending relationships of a physical kind with women. So I sort of regret the amount of time it took to become comfortable with my sexuality. But the times were different in the 60’s and 70’s when all of this was happening. I imagine my life would have taken a different trajectory had I been born 20 years later.
  4. I picked my username back when I joined Hooboy, shortly after retiring. I took an early retirement and was anticipating having a lot of time to play, which has turned out to be the case.
  5. It usually works the other way in the videos C to B, condom to bare. Lol.
  6. Did you ever try calling him to say he had quite the on-line persona?
  7. The LA Times said on Feb 3rd that we still don’t know if the inoculated can spread the virus. Look it up.
  8. Thank you. That succinctly summarizes my views at this time in our current state of knowledge. I’ve been trying to convey that viewpoint but perhaps not as well as I could have.
  9. Have fun. Wish I could go too but alas, COVID restrictions.
  10. I was only made to feel self conscious once many moons ago by dining alone. It was a lovely waterside seafood restaurant in Newport, R.I. during the high season in August. You gave your name at the reception and waited till you were called on the loudspeaker. The place was very lively and noisy. So when my turn came they announced my name and added “party of one”. They could have just said “party of Mr. x”. The stuffed lobster was worth it though.
  11. I would take FTL over KW. I have only been to KW 3 times but it’s a small island. Nice to walk or bike around, you don’t need a rental car unless you want to visit some of the other keys. Not great for finding Rentmen. Nice for taking charter cruises either day trips or a couple of days. Fort Lauderdale is a big city, with all that larger communities have to offer. Definitely need a car to get around unless you just want to stay at an all inclusive resort and stay put.
  12. So I checked and about 75 percent of infections in the US are from unknown sources. Much the same in other countries with high rates of transmission. Contact tracers are overwhelmed in these countries. So I have to ask. Where are you getting your information?
  13. And the outcomes of the two systems are abundantly clear. Lower life expectancy in America, more chronic illnesses, more obesity, I could go on.
  14. In fact many people don't know who they got the virus from. Just take the example of "superspreader" events. But beyond those people can acquire it from casual contact. And don't get me started on extremely careless people. You can see pictures of them everywhere, in crowds, in indoor situations. On this forum, some members were talking about stripper bars in Fort Lauderdale where they are packed in on popular nights. You can't drink and wear a mask at the same time. And in Florida the virus is rampant.
  15. That doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. Lol
  16. I’ve been with Gabriel Clark a couple of times and can verify his piss tastes great, very clear in fact. He’s a good athlete and doesn’t take drugs or even drink much liquor as we went out to restaurants during our dates, which included overnights.
  17. You seem to be assuming contact tracing is working 100 percent of the cases of infection. We know that is not the case, particularly in areas where the number of recent infections is high. This certainly pertains to most of the US states which includes California. The reason people are being told to wear masks after being vaccinated is based on a knowledge of the science, both what has been tested through trials and what has not been tested. You can still apply scientific theory to what has not been tested by looking at the transmissions of other viruses in situations where vaccinated subjects have infected others, even though not getting sick themselves. Time will tell whether this is the case with COVID and the current batch of vaccines on the market. The most recent evidence is that AstraZeneca is promising in this regard. My understanding is that trials are being conducted on Pfizer and Moderna but will take time to produce the evidence.
  18. The good news is that once you receive the vaccine, even if you get exposed to the virus, you are not likely to become seriously ill or die.
  19. Try going to mayoclinic.org and checking out their advice about wearing masks after receiving vaccination for COVID. They absolutely recommend it because of the risk of transmitting the virus to others, even though the vaccinated person shows no symptoms. They can still harbour the virus and spread it. Similar advice is on the CDC website.
  20. I don’t know what alternative universe you are living in. The British government said this week that none of the 3 vaccines approved by them, Pfizer, Moderna, nor AstraZeneca, offer proof that vaccinated individuals cannot spread the virus. Authorities here in Canada are saying the same thing. We are being told we must still practice the same precautions after getting vaccinated.
  21. So I take it that if they got the virus even after vaccination, they could still spread it to others.
  22. Another myth propagated by the US health insurance and private hospital lobbies. Lol
  23. Another myth propagated by the US health insurance and private hospital lobbies. Lol
  24. As a Canadian reading these news reports, I am reminded that a lot of these issues discussed in the articles are linked to the US being the only industrialized country in the world without universal health coverage. Millions of these marginalized populations in the US simply don’t have adequate health care, which is why these co-morbidities wreek havoc when they contract COVID.
  25. I take it sanitizing does not fit with your science-based approach.
