The deinstitutionalization movement, which began in the 1950s and accelerated after the passage of the Community Mental Health Act in the 60s, aimed to promote individual rights and community integration for people with mental illness. However, while this shift sought to move care from large psychiatric institutions to community-based services, it did not come with sufficient support systems, leading to inadequate resources for those released. Although halfway houses were established to aid in this integration, many individuals chose to remain on the streets, often due to the lack of supportive environments. PS. If this is your idea of foreplay, it’s working.

As a New Yorker, I can say we value convenience and are usually open to traveling a bit for the right experience, especially if it means better rates or accommodations. But honestly, it really depends on the client. Some will do a short drive or subway ride, while others want to stay within the city limits for ease. That said, I don’t think anyone in the boroughs is gonna trek out to Long Island unless they already live there! Areas in New Jersey (especially those accessible by PATH) could definitely attract clients looking for something a bit different. If a client wants to see you, they’ll see you and make it happen. Best of luck to you!!

While closing institutions aimed to promote individual rights, the shift didn’t come with adequate support systems. Many are now left without the help they need. We should focus on providing both civil rights and the necessary resources, like mental health care and housing, to support everyone, including the homeless and the LGBTQ+ community.

I’m pretty sure if you talk to a homeless person, the first thing on their mind isn’t “down with them gays”—it’s more likely “I wish I wasn’t homeless.” The real issue here is society failing the disenfranchised as a whole, including the LGBTQ+ community.

It’s enjoyable. I’ll see anything with Kathy Bates. (They should also renew High Potential. Great show!)

And when I want them to stay, I also pay.

I’m curious to hear more from the OP. In my experience, I haven’t really encountered this with the providers I’ve met. Most of the escorts I’ve come across—especially in NY and LA—are doing very well for themselves. Very well! A lot depends on the geographical market, and it’s not true for everyone of course. I tend to hire escorts who are at least 30, mostly 35+. One lives in a luxury doorman building in midtown (I had to cover his Uber from his midtown apartment to my midtown hotel, but that’s another story), another lives in a gorgeous penthouse on the Upper West Side, and one has a vacation home in Puerto Rico. I once had a provider tell me he was having a difficult month paying his bills, yet he proceeded to take off his Apple Watch and strip off his Tom Ford underwear. Just as their time with clients may involve elements of fantasy, the perception of escorting can sometimes mask the complexities of their realities.

I’m more hesitant if they’re “straight.”

Sir Peter also has one. Sexy on him!! Fits his “brand.” Also an amazing provider!!

You’re not imagining it! Amazon Prime Video has indeed introduced more ads recently. As of 2023, they announced plans to roll out ads during shows and movies, similar to how other streaming services like Hulu and Netflix have ad-supported tiers. The ads are now included in the standard subscription, but Amazon offers I believe an ad-free option for an additional fee.

One Direction singer Liam Payne dies in Argentina after fall

True empathy isn’t conditional. If you only extend empathy to people who cope with depression in ways you personally approve of, then that’s not empathy at all—it’s judgment. Dismissing their struggles just because their coping mechanisms don’t align with your expectations shows a lack of understanding and compassion. You’re essentially saying some people deserve your empathy and others don’t, which is not only ignorant but harmful. Empathy means understanding the full scope of someone’s pain, not picking and choosing who’s worthy of it. -
Different Rates for Different Clients

Let me be in the minority then! Like I said, initial hygiene matters. This guy showed up, showered, clean, happens to be in shape—if he’s sweating after pounding my ass for two hours straight, good—let him! I’m not going to stop him and let that take away from our moment. I’ll take him as is from the second that moment starts, just like he’s taking me! -
That’s a great suggestion and a helpful example of what to say. I understand it might be frustrating for you, but keep in mind, this is your business; it’s your job. For some, especially the person who started this thread, social interactions and communication can be more challenging. What comes easy for some may not be so easy for others.

I had asked if he wanted to chat briefly after he had time to rest, and I didn’t hear back for hours, which was fine. When he did respond, he asked for my name, what I was into and if I was available… even though it was all literally right there in the text above. I’m glad you had a better experience.
-
I love that you have a collection of underwear - both new and favorites - for clients. 🥰

I tried connecting with him in Chicago, but the communication was off to me. He said he was tired, hadn’t slept well, but still asked if I was available. He asked for my name and what I was into—stuff I’d already texted! It’s always the first thing I send with my availability. When I have to repeat myself at the planning stage or when I get the impression I may have an encounter with someone who’s on auto-pilot, it leaves much to be desired. Engagement is key!

I used to collect those Starbucks city mugs. At first, it was just a couple from cities I’d been to, but then it got out of hand. One day, I looked around my kitchen and realized I had, like, 50 mugs, all stacked up, reminding me of places I could barely remember visiting. It got so bad that every time I walked into a Starbucks, I’d start sweating, like, “Do I need the mug from Topeka? Am I really going to tell people about that one time I had a layover there?” That’s when I knew I had a problem. Now, I just admire them from afar… most of the time.

I don’t arrange Ubers for providers anymore—too many unnecessary issues. Now, I just have them add it to their bill and arrange their own transportation. I’ve noticed that the few providers who request an Uber have also been the most disappointing. I’m already doing enough ‘prep’ work; it’s the least they can do.

Are you a provider who also dabbles as a paying client?

I’m not entirely sure of your tastes, but Jake and Joe are solid picks. Both excellent tops! Jake has been around forever; he’s professional, dependable, and just a great guy. As for Joe, there’s something about him that gives me goosebumps. He’s funny, sweet, and incredibly passionate. He can adapt to your preferences. Just know, when the time comes, he will definitely devour you! https://rent.men/JakeMitchell#sponsor https://rent.men/JoeDicarlo

Saw the first episode. Couldn’t get into it. I am enjoying “High Potential” also on ABC. I’d recommend that.
