So then why will the medical community refuse to vaccinate someone my age? They presume that someone my age (low 60’s) has already contracted HPV. But there are different genotypes and some are cancerous and some aren’t. Is there not any protection from vaccinating someone on the assumption that, while likely exposed to HPV, they hadn’t contracted a bad genotype? It’s counterintuitive to me, but I’m not well informed on the science.
