  1. It is interesting to think he was silenced. Of course, his theory disregards the fact that hurricanes existed long before people, the most active recorded year for Florida hurricanes was 1947, and the largest one on record was in the 30’s - all before discussion or concern about global warming.
  2. Personally, I see discretion as a two way street. I MAY discuss an experience, but I wouldn’t identify or get to specific about the actual guy
  3. I understand, but do ponder this final thought. While many are inconvenienced, far far fewer are actually harmed or suffer major property damage. The media focuses on the hard hit area. But usually it’s just a convenience store canopy (big deal) blown on the ground or flooded streets that are in a flood plain anyway. I just did a quick (and perhaps unreliable) google search, and it seems that the average number of US hurricane deaths are about half that of blizzard deaths. At least both storms usually allow ample time to prepare
  4. Personally, I’m glad to be in the south. Winter storms may not provide damage but they provide misery. And while coastal areas may have high insurance rates (as of tomorrow, I’ll own three houses in the gulf coast), the harsh northern climes are prone to higher taxes to deal with the miserable winters. Of note - newer constructed properties tend to be elevated to avoid flooding. It’s the older properties at risk and with each event, they tend to be rebuilt to current codes. It works out over time because humans are resilient and resourceful. Tomayto Tomahto. I’m glad you like where you are.
  5. It is as I said - INSURANCE. Property taxes are about $4,000 per MONTH. No Mortgage.
  6. I have a friend that pays $11,000/MONTH on Sarasota Bay. Built to hurricane codes (and then some), The yard is 10’ above water level and the primary part of the house is 10’ above the yard. The only thing ground level is the garage with the living areas above. Interestingly, the ground level decorative “walls” are required to be “breakaway” but the garage doors are required to withstand 150mph winds. I hope their source of bias is not the over hyped media sensationalizing the events! The odds of a direct hit from a hurricane are small and the odds of it being a major hurricane are smaller. My opinion - I’d rather have an occasional storm in Florida than a Buffalo winter EVERY year. The friend I note above has been on Sarasota Bay for 25 years and this will be the first storm with major damage potential to occur in that time.
  7. I hope you know that you’re not alone. Please also know that, beyond the support of pharmaceuticals and toys, there might be a phycological aspect that can be addressed through counseling.
  8. The stories I’m hearing from friends and acquaintances in the East Tn/Western NC are harrowing. I know the focus is on Asheville (a remarkably beautiful small city) but the impact in some of the smaller/rural areas is beyond description. i suspect that this event will rewrite the flood maps and will also redefine for many what “flash flood warning” means.
  9. You are right. It manifested itself for me in recent weeks when my score hit 850 on all three bureaus. Then, I had an unused card show up with a $99 annual fee (it was an airline points card that perhaps I gave to my exwife to isolate her purchases years ago when we were divorcing). First thought: cancel the card it’s an unnecessary expense Second thought: no, that will hurt my 850 scores Reality is that it might have impacted my score, but only for a short time.
  10. It's not overnight, but a frame of reference since I was just there this weekend - each was scheduled for 2 hours: Appointment 1: Left Boston and went to NYC without communicating with me until I went to confirm our Saturday time on Friday night. He was $350/hr, so $700 for 2 hours but left town without telling me Appointment 2: After getting dis'd by Appt 1 on Friday night, I arranged another for Saturday - no show. He didn't reach out to me until 10 hours after our scheduled time - and then wanted to get together on Sunday. He was $350/1st hour and $300/2nd hour, so $650 for two hours but didn't show. Appointment 3: After Appt 2 no show, I reached out to an "Available Now" who was $450/hr or $2,000 overnight. I paid the $900 for two hours and he far exceeded my expectations, and I left him some favorable comments in a thread about him here. I will note that I would not have paid the overnight price since I've paid that much or less for weekends with others who have been great times.
  11. I use “guys”. I think it’s more common in communities where the men grew up together and are doing things with guys they’ve known since boyhood.
  12. And I don’t like it when younger men call me “daddy”
  13. Welllllll, rarely is the behavior on those excursions age appropriate to the participants. Is it different because I might call it “guys night out?” Personally, I think way too much debate is being put into semantics. It’s kinda a debate of form over substance IMO I think in the end, for whatever reason, we all have our own preferences and tastes. We all use words, some of which vary by age or generation, that mean different things in and out of context. And perhaps debate over these things is majoring in the minors?
  14. Understood. Can the provoders bridge the gap while you ease into the dating pool rather than diving in?
  15. Maybe ask yourself what the void is that you’re trying to fill. Then set about trying to fill that void with an appropriate substitute. For me, my life is in transition - I’ve retired, I’m relocating, I’m recently broken up from a long term relationship, and this is easier than establishing a new relationship that will be geographically challenged after my move. However, I have connected in this transition with a couple of providers with whom I’ve developed non-financial relationships that will probably survive my move.
  16. Exacerbated by the fact that I have a concierge dr and I’m about to relocate to another state 😅
  17. I just spent a couple hours with him in Boston. Sensitive, sensual, passionate, considerate, etc. A really good guy and I enjoyed my time with him. I get the sense that he’s transitioning to NYC soon
  18. And you know what? I’m a capitalist….just be a professional and let me know. I can adjust.
  19. Ha! I’m not sure what “play” even means…that tells you how new I am to this 😂
  20. Funny thing happened with this guy tonight. I Confirmed Wednesday for two hours in Boston on Saturday. Texted tonight to confirm for tomorrow He says he’s in NYC. i say it would have been nice to have a bit of communication…but whatever he says “last minute, emergency, hope you understand” I check RM where’s he advertising himself in NYC - doesn’t sound like an emergency, eh? [As I’m typing this, his last log on for RM was 2 minutes ago ] my reply - “no, I don’t since you’re advertising yourself on RM in NYC.” Then he cops me attitude when I told him not to compound the situation with a lie. i was already apprehensive since he has a no outcall rule but was in a high crime area of Boston, but the combination of poor communication, deceit, and attitude when confronted with his lie make me think he should be avoided. I’m halfway tempted to post pictures of the text conversation before I blocked his number…but I’ll end this with a simple “beware. Something isn’t right here” I’ve had folks need to cancel before and they’ve always been forthright…but this is an - allegedly - 21 yr old with the maturity way below his age and a bit of narcissism that came out in his texts as well. Am I wrong to be thinking this?
  21. Sorry @marylander1940. I now see that there is a place for user reports
  22. Oh, did I misunderstand? When you said "post the number of this individual online to warn other escorts about him" - did you mean a forum like this?
  23. Got it. So I downloaded it and I'm playing around with it. I don't see anything that shows a log of information on people. I just see the number and the name associated with it. In fact, one number I tested just said "Personal Line" for the name. is there more to it that I'm missing?
  24. I looked up “Mr Number” and I’m trying to figure out how this works in this situation
  25. Honestly, I don't think ACA would be repealed. It's become part of the DNA of too many voters. I think it's more likely that the law will be modified to properly define the mandate requirement so that it turns into an actual risk pool rather than a government subsidy.
