For one I’ve told them I’m feeling less inclined to advertise heavily on RentMasseur much because they don’t have a lock private pic feature, and all I see is people looking at my private pics versus actually booking things. I’ll see how it goes. I’ll be taking notes over the next 2 to 4 weeks.

I may occasionally slip out 1 dick pic here and there, but not much more than that. And at this point I’ve gained enough reviews on the site to where I can afford to try something new.

And we’re settling for less. What’s the point of having a private gallery, if people can barge in and see anytime? Thanks for everyone’s replies (except @hypothetically) whom I only mildly skimmed thru before I scrolled down due to his regularly condescending, passive aggressive, and belittling tone (and being I’m 6’2, you better be talking UP to me, not down) which I’ll ignore. If @hypothetically truly wanted to advise me, or show me how much better than me he is, and how he does it better, he would have spent the money that I did to travel to the Palm Springs event (and earned all back) and addressed me personally, but considering the fact he didn’t...it’s irrelevant. In fact, I’ve already met an additional 3 (SERIOUS) clients in the last 24 hours and it has already cut down on the endless nonsense texts. I probably shouldn’t have said “protest”, as I’m not demanding rentmen do anything. But I am taking action, and it’s in a peaceful way. I’ll just keep my private gallery fully locked. They’re still there. But I’m only going to unlock them for people who have shown an interest in hiring me. Like @sniper said, some people are signing up specifically to only look at photos. Therefore, I don’t need to advertise to the whole world. I think clients probably respect that, and I think I’ll start seeing more respect from people once they see I’m not some free phone sex mofo to f**k around with lol. The thing that really tripped me off was 2 people contacted me to host appointments the other day in a particular city, and when I tried to make arrangements to host them, they gave me some kind of “I’ll pass” reply because they didn’t want to prove they would show up. After that, I said F**K this...I don’t need to be showing my goodies to all these hardheaded, stubborn, unreliable people. I’m going to show them what I want them to see, when I want them to see it. That said, I’ll keep my videos up. But for now, I’ll keep the pics private, and if someone has atleast the interest in booking, then I’ll unlock.

Thanks for the input. Just to be clear though: I’m not exactly advocating a boycott. I know for me and likely many others, The Rentmen enterprise is a steady stream of bookings. And I do applaud rentmen for what they’ve done as they’ve really stepped the game up from advertising platforms like men4rent and rentboy. But what I am saying is, if clients are paying for memberships to view our private galleries, why aren’t we seeing any of the funds from that? I don’t want to have to WAIT until I get an ACTUAL in person meeting from rentmen in order to get paid. I need to be getting my ads paid for or seeing some money while it’s running. I go thru my emails and see clients (or rather, “premium users”...no guarantee they are clients) who have seen my private gallery 2, 3, 4 times and never utter a word or express interest in an appointment. I’ll send a message, they’ll simply look at my gallery again and say nothing. Others will respond part of the time, but it doesn’t always lead to a booking. I’m putting a stop to the nonsense today. I’ve moved majority of my pics to my FULL private gallery on rentmen, and deleted most of the private gallery on RentMasseur. I’ll still keep up more than 3 pics, as I don’t want to run off the genuine rentmen clients...but these other joker mother fuckers are going to need to show hard proof of wanting an appointment before I continue displaying free material.

Epsom salt baths work wonders. I had previously posted this concern last year on a different site...however I got mixed opinions, and ultimately decided not to go forward with it. However, I am now revisiting the concept and asking if other providers will be open to join in. Some of you may have seen me at the Palm Springs 2019 meet, so you know I’m legit. Basically the proposal I’m asking is for RENTMEN/RENTMASSEUR to start making clients/viewers pay in the form of credits to view each of our private galleries, and for each time they view. This in turn could help us pay for our ads and other features such as platinum boosts, gold, video of the day, etc. This is a safe way to do it instead of transferring funds out for payment. An example (again, an example, don’t focus on the dollar amount): A client purchases $50 in credits and can view 10 private profiles. That’s $5 in credit a provider can use towards ad expenses. Over the course of a month, I have enough people viewing my private gallery, that my ad should pay for itself thru that, and not out of my client appointments. For anyone who doesn’t know, a gold rentmen ad costs $80/month. A gold RentMasseur ad costs $40. Platinum boosts are $12 for each 12 hours. Or $24 for each full day. The reason why I am protesting for change is because the amount of people viewing my private gallery and contacting me for appointment, versus the amount of clients that I actually get don’t add up. I’ll give an example of my latest tour between several cities on my way to the Palm Springs 2019 road trip event over the course of the past 2 weeks: Starting from Kansas City: Kansas City: 1 client from RentMassuer the week prior to my trip. Tulsa, OK: 2 cancellations, 0 clients Oklahoma City: 1 client, Rentmen Albuquerque, NM: 2 cancels, 1 no show Palm Springs: 2 clients over 4 days Los Angeles: 1 regular, a couple no shows/cancels via Rentmen Las Vegas: 1 client, a couple cancels/no shows Albuquerque again: 2 cancellations, 1 regular And after all this, BOTH of my ads are due again on the 28th. $120 total. I don’t even have $120 to my name until my next client. This is unacceptable. So what I’m going to do until something changes, I taking all of my private photos off of RentMassuer and fully locking all of my private photos on RentMen, leaving only 3 photos on each site. I’ll be including a message that my private photos will no longer be available publicly, due to the increasing number of unkept appointments and no show clients. I know people cite all the free material out on the internet, and that’s fine...but it doesn’t give a free pass that we shouldn’t receive anything for our presentations. So many clients contacting now are just unwavering, and they don’t want to follow booking procedures. Many don’t want to pay anything upfront, but yet they don’t see that I have to pay for my ads upfront, pay for hotels upfront because 95% of clients can’t host. They expect us to be able to have everything ready for them when they contact, but no real guarantee they’ll follow thru. So I’m just asking if others could consider it as well because we need a change in this industry especially with Rentmen being the monopolizer on the internet sites.

Wow, I’m pleased with the supportive responses so far. I was a bit reluctant to post this because I didn’t want to make it seem like I was saying: “because clients hire us, they are sociopaths”. Rather I’m saying: there are clients who hire us, but they “MAY” display sociopathic personalities. I know this is a deep topic. But if we (as Americans) are going to tout mental health, decriminalization, we need to first take initiative to address the issues within our community. My whole deal is I feel clients (and even gay/bi men in general) sometimes say/do things that come off as socio in subtle ways. It may not come off as such initially, but it could resurface later. Real life Examples: Client hires me. Invited me to a swingers club. Fair enough. He’s paying the entrance fee, and inviting me since I don’t always host when I’m at “home”. However when I walk in to meet him, he’s getting his ass ate tongue deep by another dude, despite him expecting my arrival. Hot...but why did he think it was not “weird?” I jumped in, but the dude felt like he was interrupting, and so did I. We later met and discussed the encounter, and it was clear we were both confused about what this possibly sociopathic client was doing. Another example: after having a very hot session with a client, he proceeds to tell me a story about his free hookup...who somehow brung along another black guy to fuck him. Somehow this guy’s dick was 12 inches and felt like a log in his ass, and he couldn’t handle it and the guy was upset. I’m thinking to myself: WHAT THE...why are we having this conversation? I listened and went along, but it was slightly demeaning and didn’t belong in the situation. Needless to say, he wasn’t quite respectful from the get go to begin with. These are the type of things that make me realize more and more I’m not always dealing with a full deck (pardon my Vegas lingo, I’ve been hanging out here lately) when it comes to certain clients.

Today I had my 1st client this week from RentMasseur, but even he was almost cancelled because he wouldn’t confirm in the manner I was asking him to, and there was a 2-3 hour pause in between messages. I was quite disheartened this morning to go thru 2+ PAGES of people who looked at my Private gallery on RentMasseur, but did not contact me by phone to schedule. I do try to be proactive and individually respond to each, however when I’m traveling and only in a city for 2-4 days, many of those aren’t salvageable ?

Well said. This takes me back to my previous sales type career where it went beyond the surface and into the dynamics. The objections. Closing the deal, etc. So I was able to understand everything you said. I will mention though: I do have a predictable set of answers for clients. At the same time, what you mentioned is only a partial issue of the “nonsense”. I also don’t think this is entirely the client’s fault: the current websites we have don’t quite make it easy to understand our services. And using an iPhone, many clients are looking at mobile version of those sites, which make it somewhat hard to see ALL of our instructions on 1 page. That’s one thing I missed about rentboy and men4rent: all of our info was on 1 page. The flakes and nonsense were less than they are now.

Before anyone reads: this subject addresses possible mental health concerns. In America, with the latest of gun violence and other tragic events, we often speak on mental health being something politicians and health care providers need to provide. In this thread, I’m asking that also instead take initiative to address our own mental well-being, for the sake of bettering our relations between clients and escorts. We can’t only wait for the government to address such concerns. We should want to be able to discuss then amongst ourselves. Psychopathy is traditionally a personality disorder characterized by persistent antisocial behavior, impaired empathy and remorse, and bold, disinhibited, and egotistical traits. It is sometimes considered synonymous with sociopathy. I bring this up because it seems that some of the conversations I’ve had with clients seem to borderline this behavior. That’s not a diss to all clients or to say everyone is like that, but some of the daily texts and even when I (occasionally) spend time with clients off clock...seem to make me question it. Some examples: a regular client of mine in LA told me how he made up a lie to a relative to cover up our time together. In turn, he ended up also lying to me (by omission) ...but all together it made no sense why he was lying to begin with. Another client, who I missed a session with couple weeks ago, made a statement about him and another provider (whom I have no idea is) having a great time together. Why he felt the need to voice that to me, I don’t know. But I’m sure he wouldn’t have cared to hear about the dozen or so people I’ve had a great time with since our last session attempt. These are just 2 examples of many. Has anyone else noticed such things, and wonder if perhaps some sociopathic traits are at work?

I can see where you’re coming from with that. At the same time, I also offer the next level if they so choose, and in most cases they do. I’m also sure they understand what I offer in my sessions as well. So even if they need to sort out anything, it’s going to be made clear. Case in point today: person contacts me from RM. I already suspect that it was likely a troll anyway, but this person booked an outcall to a partially unspecified location this afternoon. I gave him the rundown, but at one point I get this long text message asking MORE questions and pretty much nitpicking every detail after I ALREADY detailed what each session is. On top of that, he claims to “not trying to be a jerk” on two occasions. Why the F would he need to be so adamant about not being a jerk? But a jerk is exactly what he was. At that point, I tell him I’m in the middle of driving in rush hour traffic, and that if there’s anything else he isn’t clear on, to book the starter’s session and whatever else can be sorted in person. He has the nerve to further argue, complain that i took 30 minutes to respond, and tell me he’s not going to book the appointment today. It’s stuff like that which really gets me. I was in the car with my boyfriend too and trying to run errands. That shit messed up my mood for the afternoon. Pointless. F-ing. Nonsensical bullshit have to deal with for no reason. Text pests they are. Unnecessary stress and frustration dealing with people who don’t end up booking and ultimately end up getting told to kick rocks because I have 0 tolerance for it. I think what I’m going to have to do with RentMasseur and probably my whole biz, is to announce I don’t take same TIME of day appointments . Meaning, if they text me in the afternoon, they don’t get an afternoon appointment. They get an evening or later. That way I can insure myself against having to stop what I’m doing and converse in an attempt to schedule them the same day...and perhaps train them to not think of me as someone standing in the mall with a massage table who’s always available at their convenience. I’ll also retract saying I’ll remove my RentMasseur ad, as I do get about 40% of my calls (or shall I say, texts) from there. Despite 60% of that 40 have proven to be quite insolent. However, I’m going to have to start breaking it DOWN as to what I will and won’t tolerate.

The nonsense being many of the messages and texts being sent out, with many of them not leading to an appointment. And it seems from looking thru my messages, RentMasseur is leading the race in having the most amount of guys who try to book, but then never end up having the time to make anything happen. I think I may try letting my ad expire for awhile and see if it cuts down on it, because most of the flakes seem to be coming from that site versus Rentmen. I don’t know if it’s just a case of people messaging multiple guys and can’t keep up, or just wanting to have a conversation...but all the contacting and discussions of meeting consume so much time and energy, it’s causing distractions in my personal life. And each appointment that falls thru, is another issue created. I’m happy to be having more replies to my ad than before, but it’s also with a lot of people who aren’t reliable when it comes to setting anything. And many of the RentMasseur calls don’t like to pay deposits (not that it’s always required) or cancel fees as much, so it’s even more hard getting anything out of it when stuff doesn’t lead to anything. What’s really going on?

Lol...the way he was peeping, look like he did want to join in haha. And no, I don’t want an RV. In Calfornia they done lost their MF-ing mind out here with these $4+ gas prices. I haven’t seen $5 yet but $4.99 yes. This is taking it back to 2008 prices. If I get an RV, $20 will barely move the needle. The trade off being you don’t necessarily have to drive far to get to anywhere happening.

I guess people might as well start re-reserving their room at the same time they checkout from wherever staying...if they want to stay there again. I ended up staying an extra day on Monday, just to do my own separate thing, but switched hotels to a local chain with some points I earned, but couldn’t get for the weekend because all the hotels under that chain were sold out until Monday. I went from having a small, comfy room at one of the gay resorts, to this gargantuan apartment studio room with balcony and hot tub at another. If I were coming next year, I’d be trying to find a way to ask Coachella to move it to like when Miami does Ultra/White Party, which is in March, because it’s constraining the hotel options lol. However, I know plenty of gay resorts do not “cater” to the events and keep their same prices, like the one I stayed at. That said, I just don’t get the allure of the festivals, and why some guys in the community spending their money going. It’s not like pridefest, where you can see artists performing AND it is about the community. Not saying they shouldn’t go, but I met a guy yesterday who showed me a video he took of a Coachella performance...and it’s like, ummmm...I’d rather just go to Pride and be able to drink, connect, etc. than to pay $500-$1,000 to watch someone dance and prance across a stage. I spent $300 yesterday on something useful that’s likely to last me 75,000+ miles, and get me to Minneapolis pride in June. And still had some left over to pick up a couple souvenirs at Rough trade and Gay Mart lol. I’ve been to Calle Ocho, White/Winter parties, Pridefests in different cities over the years, to me non of that stuff appeals anymore. The forum meetup is more inspirational than some music festival where people are packed into some auditorium with their phones in the air recording the same artists, or turning your head away for 1 second, and then spending the next hour looking for your friend in the crowd.

@Cannon , So to add to this topic ironically...just yesterday I was in a “session”, but fortunately not in the middle of anything...just laying in bed nude. Out of nowhere, the door pops open and another guy is peering through. “Oops, I’m sorry!” Door closes, but after a LONG 5 seconds of awkwardness, followed by: thats my husband, he wasn’t supposed to be here yet Now THAT I felt vulnerable. Atlanta was never a favorite of mine. I learned the hard way on my 1st time ...eagerly (and foolishly) took a trip out there and prepaid for 3 days hotels. Not a single booking followed thru. Wiser and smarter years later, I’ve passed thru Atlanta over the years, but usually avoided stopping over unless I had a confirmed appointment. Which was usually never. There’s nothing different in the water there, it’s just an overpopulated City with so many options for penis, and men in general...it creates a cannibalistic market. Then again, that’s many areas becoming. There’s no room to stand out because everybody is trying to do the same thing.
