Really enjoyed the first episode of Reacher; I remember Alan Ritchson from Smallville as well as Blue Mountain State in which he spent a fair amount of time running around in just a jockstrap.   He was also recently in the superhero show Titans where he displayed his magnificent backside a few times.   If you look on YouTube he also has some singing videos as well as an appearance on American Idol when he was younger.

That's not belting.  That's a mix.  Her passagio.
If you want to hear this song belted, properly, you need to listen to Betty Buckley's version...

And then there's this...  A masterclass in vocal shape, vocal placement and a huge range.
I'm still bummed I never flew in to see her do King and I at Lincoln Center.

I just had to chime in on Marin Mazzie - her voice and presence were incredible.  I saw  her in several broadway shows as well as in concert with Jason.  Her voice seemed to get richer as time went on.  If only she had beat cancer and was still with us.   I still get chills listening to her on the OBC recording of "Ragtime".  Not to take anything away from Lea Salonga, who I saw way back when in "Miss Saigon" as well as a few years ago in "Allegiance".  I guess I fell in love with both of them.

I understand from reading that Marin Mazzie had some opera training while Lea Salonga had some classical training, but not opera, which could make an appreciable difference in their singing.
I love this trio of Audra McDdonald, Marin Mazzie, and Judy Kuhn:

My problem with her isn't that she lacks vocal runs or melisma, but that her voice lacks a solid, powerful belt.
She sings 'pretty' and yes, she's a VERY technically correct singer, but it isn't best suited for the show stopping 11 o'clock, park-and-bark number.
The original Mother in Ragtime was the incredible Marin Mazzie.  You can find a million YouTube videos of her in the show, as well as the ton of other Broadway gigs she had through her career.  She was gifted with great training and a massive, proper belt.  The richness and power of her voice was unreal.
I got to know her a bit towards the end of her life.  She and her husband Jason.  They would do a lot of fundraising concerts down in Key West with Terrence McNally.

I have noticed that there are some posters who come on to this scene - post very regularly for a period of time and then disappear.  Perhaps they join to get support or input while working through an issue, or find this community and enthusiastically join for a period of time.  There are other posters like me, who have been around for a while, but only post when they really want to say something.

I watch Netflix while I'm on the treadmill so my choices are usually light, comedic series. I just started "House of Flowers" which is a Mexican telenovela that has everything from drag, strippers, infidelity, suicide, a trans character, marijuana, nosy neighbors, and a very cute gay son who claims to be bi and shows his his backside every now and then. And this is only by episode 6 of the three-season series. Each episode is only about 25 or 26 minutes long so I can generally get two episodes in while I'm on the treadmill each morning.

This has received mixed reviews, with most finding good things to say in spite of it being another trashy soap opera about the rich.

I have come to realize that I will never willingly get rid of my life time accumulation of stuff. A lot of it is quite valuable or was at one point. I realize antiques have gone way down in value as younger people don't collect them any more. If I eventually go to a retirement home I will be forced to call in the auctioneer. My siblings and their children are not interested. If I croak in my home, my heirs will have to deal with it.

leeper reacted to RadioRob in Which male medical/cosmetic procedures are actually worth it?
Over the last few years, I've worked to lose a bunch of weight....  all said I've dropped around 150 pounds.  Afterwards, I had a ton of excess skin and as a result I had a tummy tuck and a flank lift done.  There were a few spots afterwards that I was still not quite happy with so I also had smart (laser) lipo to touch up the upper part of my stomach.
Ultimately if you're looking to make a change, the question would be what do you like and dislike about yourself.  From there it comes down to what procedure would be best to make you feel better about it.  A site that was super helpful to me was www.realself.com.  It has details about tons of different procedures as well as what are different options for different parts of the body.  There are real doctors that post and give advice there and was actually how I found my surgeon (who coincidentally was the same one who reattached John Wayne Bobbit's dong after being lobbed off).

Search is one of the most commonly used features within the site.  Given that we have over 125,000 topics and 1.7 million replies, there is a lot of valuable information to be found.
The default search system used by both Xenforo and Invision is to just directly query the database used for the site.  This system worked, but can be slow and can sometimes miss results.  In IPB, it also did not play nice with full URLs such as links to RM profile pages.
I've switched the site to use a new search backend known as "ElasticSearch".  This system should return results near instantly and use much less system resources.
This change is simply on the backend.  So you will continue searching the way you do today.  What results and how they're returned by the system is what is changing.  I'm making this post so no one is surprised if the search results look a little different than they do today.
To help you get the most out of finding content, below are a few tips that will help get the best results.
    RadioRob's Tips for Searching
When you enter multiple words, the system is applying an "OR" operator to it.  For example.... if you search for: apples bananas
The search results would return results which include either apples OR bananas  If you want to find an exact phrase, put it in quotation marks.  If you're looking for Matt Gaetz
The system will try to prioritize search results that have BOTH phrases, but still return results that have either Matt OR Gaetz in the results.  If you want only the full name, type in: "Matt Gaetz"
to find that exact phrase.   Try not to search URLs.  While the system will support it, the results may not be as accurate as they might possibly be.  For example:  https://rent.men/bradleyblack
If you search this, the parser is looking at it as: http OR rent.men OR bradleyblack There are many results that would have two more more of those phrases.  So you can search for  "https://rent.men/bradleyblack" and get results that have that EXACT result.
While this will return the results that match that exact phrase, but you might miss out on some posts about Bradley because there are times when someone only mentions their profile name without the address or they use a different URL such as https://rentmen.eu/bradleyblack.  My recommendation to see the MOST results is to search ONLY the person's username.
bradleyblack Even if you don't decide to take my advice and just search for the full address, it won't just choke up and time out like the old system did before.  It will return results....  but maybe not the best possible results.
FYI... the new search index is about 75% complete.  It should be finished by 2:00 AM Eastern.  You can actively search now, but just realize some results may not show up yet until it gets finished with the task.
    Happy Searching!

Everyone reinforces stereotypes about everything.  This is the norm.  Part of being an adult is learning to sift through the bullshit to find the gold flake.
Let's not start on how directors and writers treat the LGBT community regarding stereotypes.  Even within our own.
I don't let it ruin the greater good for me.

I have a home office that is cluttered, but it causes me no  stress, since I know the things I need are there.  Cleaning it is far more stressful for me.  The rest of the house is not cluttered, I just allow it in what I consider my sanctuary.

I always seem to make a bigger mess in the process of clearing clutter then it all seems to come together.  I don't know about anyone else but I can't seem to throw away one card ... but get 10 of them together and THEN I can trash them.

I have now just read this sad thread. Even though I know none of you personally, we all share a common bond here that now is broken. Like some of you have written, reading this forum was a regular feature of my morning coffee wake-up ritual. There was always the humor, the information, the humanity, the passionate arguments, and of course those amazing hot pictures over in the gallery. This forum really helped me navigate a part of my life when I first ventured into the pool that was the subject of so much of this board. Certainly, the reviews at Daddy's were a major help for me in that regard. And it was good to discover that so many issues that I struggled with were common to many of you here. To have fostered this incomparable community board was such a wonderful thing for Daddy to have done. I wish I could have shared cocktails with the man at least once. RIP, Bill/Daddy and heartfelt thanks to Cooper for all that he has done. Thanks to all of you who have shared your thoughts and remembrances of the man we have lost. Finally, I hope that somehow our community will survive.

This is the post I was fearing to read. Beyond sad. I got to meet him a couple of times and once he invited me to sit beside him while he went through and cleared reviews for posting. This site has been so instrumental in creating a community. I lurked for many years before I actually joined. Some folks have joined and been constants throughout the years, others have joined for a period of time and then vanished. I have noticed that many used it as a support for a transition in their lives, burned bright with many posts and then "retired". I hope there is is way of preserving and maintaining what we have here. So long Daddy, and thank-you so much for all of this.
