Hello, all. a couple of you have reached out and I realize that I again, had vanished mostly, for which I apologize. I also have noted that in another thread, someone theorized that my posts had been a "creative writing exercise," which I assure you they were not. Posting here was deeply therapeutic to me as I struggled with some personal issues, and I'm grateful for the welcome you gave me. I'm sorry if anyone didn't believe me, but I don't know what I can do about that without compromising my sons' privacy so there you are.
Now let's see. Older Brother is still on Capitol Hill and loves it. He was not there during the 1/6 riots, I'm glad to say. His girlfriend graduated from GW law school this spring, and I think they are thick as thieves. No marriage plans yet, but I think she wants to get a career established first.
Navy Twin has graduated from flight school in Pensacola, and will be piloting Hawkeyes, a plane I had not known, but it's an "Information Gathering" vessel. As he says, "I won't be bombing anything, but I'll be choosing the targets." Okay. Despite my continued mobility issues, I was able to get to Florida for his winging, a brief but moving ceremony, and my parents came along-- so proud. He and his girlfriend will get married this fall at the Naval Academy Chapel, and I couldn't be happier, I really love her.
DePaul Twin finished his 5 year BA-MA program and is working, for now, at a tech firm in Chicago, which he loves, although I think this is a "starter job," Still happily single, and he's become the family social director, planning our regular Zoom meet-ups.
And me? Well, better, but the progress is slow. I use a cane, and have some cognitive problems, but, not as bad as at first, and improving. And my friend? (We both still resist "boyfriend" but frankly, that's what he is). That is very, very good. He was so patient with my medical issues, so attentive, and so kind. The boys and their gf's have all met him and like him a lot.
If I were to describe my ideal man, I'd have said taller than me, on the lean side, mostly smooth, blond or redhead, blue eyes. He checks none of those boxes. He's a bit shorter than me with a solid muscular build, brown hair and eyes, and a pretty furry chest. And so that's now my ideal man. He does have the broad shoulders I used to post about as major turn-ons, though. And we're pretty sexually compatible, as I once posted, although he took some getting used to-- be's a big one downstairs! But he's sensitive and patient and we have a great time. On about our third time together, we were holding each other after sex and he murmured something I didn't catch. I asked what he had said, and he said, "I wish I didn't hurt you." I think that was the moment I fell in love.
Anyway, hi everybody, you have meant a lot to me, and I'll try to be more present.

First of all, the photos and video can't be compared to seeing the show live and in person (especially from the second row).  Secondly, despite the precautions taken by the theater and given the state of technology, this was not entirely unexpected.  I do recall that a series of photos were out there for the original production at the Public Theater in 2002 that looked like they were taken by a professional photographer. These photos showed the cast in several scenes including the shower scenes.  Of course the cast members at that time weren't well known and our phones weren't also cameras.

I agree.  I loved Lenk in "A Band's Visit", she was perfect.  But I didn't love her in "Company" even though it was enjoyable.

Saw Company last weekend and it was brilliant.  First time seeing Lupone and she's still got it!
Funny sidebar, during the intermission, 2 theatre staff came down and spoke to a man sitting behind us (they had flashlights and walkie-talkies, so official 😲).   They said "the cast are telling us you are not wearing your mask over your nose, and if Miss Lupone sees you she will stop the show."  It was humorous, her reputation lives on!

Well, my menu is set for the Sunday Pool Event, and I have, just about, completed the prep work for everything and am about ready to pack up and hit the road for Palm Springs.  For those interested here is what to expect to see from me on the table: Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Dates, Cantonese Style Won Tons, Cajun Turkey Rolls, Caprese Salad Skewers, Chicken Wings with Roquefort Dressing, Crab Rangoon’s, Party Cheese Bread, Sausage and Spinach-Stuffed Mushrooms, Sloppy Joe Sliders, Steak Bites with Chimichurri Sauce, Teriyaki Meatballs, and the stupid fucking Deviled Eggs.

I also saw the play at the Public 20 years ago, and then after it transferred to Broadway.  I saw the current production this past weekend and enjoyed it.  Listening to some of the conversations of other audience members around me during intermission and after the show, the response to locking up the phones was viewed as positive since all the audience members who commented said it was great to not have the distraction of some idiot's glowing screen during the performance irregardless of the concern over filming the cast during "vulnerable" moments.  A couple of people who had also seen the play 20 years ago seemed to remember that there were there two shower scenes with most of the team members, not just one as in the current production (in addition to the one with only Darren and Shane).  My memory on that isn't clear at all.
There is a line about the difference between democracy and baseball being that baseball acknowledges that the loser has actually lost - unlike democracy, which of course,  got a huge laugh.   If that line was in the original production, I don't think it had the same reaction as it did today.   I also noted that racist language hit much harder now that it seemed to 20 years ago.  Beforehand, I was wondering if the play would be dated today - my conclusion was not really, although I have read some comments to the contrary.  Any yes, the nudity is right up front, well lit, and lingers for a while and Jesse Williams is indeed "blessed".

I watched the first two episodes today.  The promised penises are there in the first episode, although the one on the guy chosen to be the centerfold of the first issue of the magazine "Minx", is likely a prosthetic.  I'll probably keep watching as new episodes come out, since much of it was fairly amusing.
