When the provider doesn't answer any of my basic questions such as rate, location, availability. Another is when a provider quotes a rate that is far from local market rates, I stop the conversation.   
 

He quoted me 500$.  I told him that was outside of my budget.  He wanted to negotiate but I lost interest.

One of my regulars wanted to meet but my schedule wouldn't permit as I had a lot of zoom calls that day. He suggested getting me off under my glass table. That was not my request, but he offered to do so and it was quite hot seeing him on his knees sucking me off while I had to pay attention to the call.

Short answer: No.
Long answer: I believe strongly in being polite, but I’m always very clear about what I enjoy doing (and having done to me). Guys have told me I’m generous. I don’t haggle and I expect full service. Any suggestion of a menu or ‘a la carte’ pricing is a deal-breaker for me. 

Here are two brand-new guys with only one (1) post each. They both asked about HeyImRenz AFTER MakeMeCowboy disclosed that the photos are not those of the provider. 
Can anyone hazard a guess who these new members are? And their motive?

I don't care if somebody kinda-sorta looks like their pix.
When I'm shopping, I am attracted to certain features about a person that don't come with every person in the same category.
Here's a photo of a muscular mixed-race guy and here's the ACTUAL mixed race guy who doesn't look like the guy in the photo .Reminds me of the pre-internet days when the personals were just descriptions.

I saw him this evening.  He only does outcall (with tight exceptions.). He's NOT the guy in the public photos.  I didn't call him on-it because the meeting was at my house.  I had a problem with a different provider several years ago.  
If you think HeyImRenz's public photos are a 10, the in-person guy is a 7 at best.

I paid him and sent him home.
I liked his rentmen ad... he only does outcall, etc. so I set up a time at my place.  He arrives 30 minutes late (fine.) He has a strong Russian accent but speaks good English. His photos are at least 10 years old and 25 pounds ago.  Then, he spent a little too much time looking over my 'things.' It was very deliberate.  The vibe was not right, so, I paid him his fee and showed him the door.

Well...that isn't always true.
"Ask me" is quite a common component of the rates section. So I am forced to ask . The second most common need to ask is availability to host ( where and when ).
So I don't need to text you if you're too expensive or hosting somewhere inconvenient or working hours that are inconvenient..but that's not always apparent in the ad. So a quick response in messenger keeps me off your text threads on your phone.

It's interesting to hear how you view "What's your rate?" Most rentmen profiles don't include rates. Unless he looks like Chris Bumstead, I'm not going to spend $500+ for an hour with a provider. I figured that opening with rates prevented wasting their time. There's no need to discuss details of a session if I'm unwilling to pay the provider's rates. I'm also okay with brief messages, such as "300 per hour" and don't consider them rude.

While I 100% get the attraction based on his profile, even the pics, but those pics are so oddly cropped, and blurred, I’d need to see more, you know?

I see a lot of talk about money. WhenI was last in NY he shared 300, which was more than reasonable for a porn star. That was pre Only fans, I have no idea what his rate is these days, but it's a life changing experience.

Misinformation. It’s more than 97% effective — it’s about 99% effective. And I for one am completely adherent to the dosing schedule so don’t say almost no one is. You’re wrong in both your comments. 

I purposefully did not address any other point in the OP’s post, as I think they were all valid reasons to decline another engagement. I remarked on the lack of lube contretemps as it is as you say, basic to the whole thing undertaking, I was shocked neither was prepared (tho to me, the his has the greater burden here). It shouldn’t be just down to the provider or the client. Both should always be prepared, period. As you said, this is a “premium service”, so as much as the provider needs to take care of basics, the client needs to confirm those basics are taken care of as well. 

This is probably the most “no brainer” part of this entire hobby, so it’s always amusing to me to read posts bemoaning providers for failing to bring, have, supply lube, condoms. It just boggles my mind that grown, adult men aren’t making sure themselves that these basics are taken care of, rather than relying on strangers to do so. 

The guy with the long hair looks like a prison escapee I saw in the news. I think he murdered his wife.
