I might be a little late since this conversation with May I add my experience. I am a larger man 230 pounds that is.  At one point i was a lot heavier about beautiful people on Batman just because of my way alone. Well yes it maybe cruel, but its better to be rejected when you make the first enquiry rather than be rejected at the door (and that has happened).

Problem is as a larger man - not everyone is attracted to you - but then everyone regardless of their physic is not attractive to everyone.
 
When I hire I want bang for my buck - if its not a fit - its not a fit and I would prefer to not waste time on those who are not a fit.
 
Is it cruel to go shopping for something you want - say a car - and finding the one that really suits you - are the other cars you reject suffering because the process of elimination is cruel.

In fairness some do.  When I first started hiring I had a few, but I have learned over time to read profiles more carefully as the providers that come off full of themselves have been less than stellar experiences.  
And when you find one you click with, stick with them as the sessions tend to get better as you get comfortable with each other.

On the contrary, my experience both in hiring and hookups have been that the guys with a fat fetish are themselves fit bodybuilders.  I've ran across a few Rent Men profiles of fit body builders that said "Into Bears/Big/Chubby Men".
I've hooked up with several fit bodybuilders, but alas they won't leave their husbands who are all bigger, fatter, and older than me.  (And I'm self-described morbidly obese).

I don’t think the deposit is connected to the rest of it. Deposits are to show a client is serious; put some skin in the game. I will send $50 to secure an appointment but I won’t send half. 
Unfortunately, there are people who I doubt are genuine clients who waste providers’ time. In my experience, it’s only ever for the first meeting. 
The other requests or unwanted attention sucks too, but if it’s not serious a provider can block them. They can’t get back 2-3 hours they’ve put aside for a client that doesn’t show up. 

a way to show provider you are legit is to -  send a small deposit. (amazon gift card is a easy way to send without leaving a trail), arranging for uber for our visit if you are getting an outcall, or having a premium rentmen account.  Hope this helps. We need more good guys. 

i do wanna add to this if i  may. we don’t use anything to “ talk bad “ about  clients. it’s a way for us to avoid clients that play games with providers.  Unfortunately there’s a lot of clients out there that constantly contact people to play games, or are dangerous people.

I would love to give my input on this topic. I have been stiffed many many times, which is why I sometimes ask for a deposit if it’s longer hours.
 
The first time I’ve been stiffed was when I was talking to a client that lived in Texas in 2021, and he flew me out for a three night overnight trip. Something like that you should ask for money upfront, but I think because I trusted him I didn’t ask for it after my weekend and my time with him I never asked for any of the money upfront and I thought he was just gonna automatically pay me and he never ended up paying me after i left. The man owes me a lot of money. 
 
The second time I’ve been scammed I had an overnight with a client and he didn’t give me the full amount  as he said he had to leave early in the morning while I was still sleeping.  this man also stole my Apple Watch as well.. I noticed both of these issues when I woke up because my Apple Watch was gone and I counted the money and it wasn’t all there.
when I meet with a client in person, I always ask for them to put the money on the table count it just so I know I’m not gonna get scanned. as I mentioned to a lot of clients and future clients, it’s not just my time it’s our time and our time is important.  it’s unfortunate that Not only do a lot of clients go out of their way. Just a flake on people, but also go out other way to harm providers and screw them over.. that’s unfortunate. It has happened to me and many others..

Unfortunately, I have got stiffed a few times, including a guy that flew me out to Texas for a three day weekend and never paid me. An Overnight situation like that I think it’s fair to ask for  50% upfront ( because of issues like this). Then the rest when I’m there. I tend to not want to ask for the payment upfront when I meet a client because I don’t want them to feel uncomfortable, but I always tell them if they feel like getting out of the way just leave it on the nightstand.

I have been very lucky to meet some really great clients, but I’ve met a lot of people who are not so nice people. I tried to stick to my nice clients because it’s always good vibes with them.
