I took a guy on vacation once. Things were always wonderful when we had our many weekend overnights until that trip. On that trip, he was distant. I met up with him the night before we departed, and he was quick to split afterwards. He didn’t want me to pick him up for the airport the next morning; he’d Uber. Right. Asses always look better in tighter jeans, but even then there are better options. I’m more interested in options that would help direct attention to a sizable endowment (8-9”). Not really looking to wear sweats to a nice dining outing…or show.

I’ve run into potential new hires who don’t want to discuss details before a deposit is made because “time is money.” In those cases, I just move on. It’s going to be a bad fit simply because of the attitude toward the experience. Business? Yes. Pleasure? Hmmm…

Along those same lines… I don’t see a tip as a sine non qua. Sometimes I tip. Sometimes I don’t. The agreed amount and time are what is expected. Any more I give is a tip. Any more he gives is bonus. It’s pretty simple. For what it’s worth, I hire for multiple-day BFEs and pay for outings and so forth. And I often get him things for us to enjoy together that he can add to his cache of goodies to use with other clients. So I don’t feel the need to feel guilty about him doing more and me not tipping.
