Always best to ask them if you have a definite preference. 
I describe my role as vers top. It’s because I usually top. It’s assumed I top because I’m hung (that assumption is a whole different subject!) but I’m happy to bottom if asked. 

In my experience. "Verse/Top" means someone mostly tops but also will bottom occasionally. "Verse/Bottom" means someone mostly bottoms but also will top occasionally. "Versatile" is 50/50 true verse flip fuck city, no problem doing either whenever.

1)Same day appointments are never the best, either we aren't ready as a provider or we are already booked.  I agree it's always best to book ahead of time.  Unfortunately too many looking for a same day appointment these days.

2)I never spend money on hotels.  Too much risk.  I'd rather have the client meet me at an incall location of my choice if it's ready or better yet meet the client at a hotel they booked or at their location.  If someone doesn't show up then that is lost money.

3)I just ignore these men and move on.
4)Yeah between when I started and now many areas seem to have slowed down, is it even worth using some of these online sites with how flooded they are?
5)I've never asked for a deposit but when setting aside time if they don't show up then that is money out of our pocket.  I understand there needs to be trust on both sides though.
6)Yeah I feel hookup apps have had an effect on the industry why pay if you can try to get something at no cost.

I feel it's still worth it, more work than it used to be.  Honestly I feel doing this the old way, pre-internet on the streets might be better when trying to find clients, yes there is more risk but at the same time if you are out there you are ready and you know the clients are ready.

It depends on the provider.  Some providers have other jobs, some providers don't want their families to know so they go by a pseudonym.  Keep in mind that providers are performers/entertainers providing a fantasy for their clients.  Knowing their real name and knowing more about them could kill the fantasy.

If it's a mutual like then the provider might see it differently but at times the like is more "one-sided".  By that I mean the client feels something while the provider doesn't.  It's part of the job of the provider to make each client feel special.  If it's something that you'd expect that the provider doesn't charge their regular rate then before arranging something make sure you talk with the provider and make that known.  The provider could be fine with it or want to keep it strictly business, meaning they still charge the rate for their time.  It shouldn't be off-putting rather it gives you the answer you are looking for, move onto the next provider.

I would offer this counter point - your time is most valuable when it it fully booked.
if you’re fully booked to the capacity you want to make available, then the math validates what you’ve said…you’re at maximum capacity and you should even consider raising your prices   
but, if your time is not fully booked, then the question is a) do you want to make $x/hr or b) do you want to make more money?     If you have available time, you make MORE money by discounting unbooked time and making something rather than nothing.   It doesn’t cheapen the value of your time, it maximizes your income as long as it doesn’t take you away from something else.
Social time is not exhausting like physical activities and can be fun too.   I have one provider who charges social time at half the normal rate and it works great for both of us.

As a provider I'm being paid for my time whether it's going to get dinner with the client or spend time in the bedroom.  As a result I would charge my regular rate either way.  If it's a regular customer and depending on how frequently there might be times when I give a discount here and there but in general I charge for my time and whatever happens during that time.

As a client, I always expect to pay the provider’s asked rate, whether we are going out to dinner or just cuddling or fucking. I cover all expenses for the time also. 
 
As a consultant, I charge by the hour, no matter if I’m just sitting in a meeting or building an app. I’m getting paid for my time and my expertise. I see no difference between my situation and providers.

I am finding that there are more clients out there not treating providers with respect.  Primarily for me these are the ones that will call last minute looking for a last minute appointment.  Also for me it's the way some of the way that a client will talk to a provider.  Yes I am a sexworker but I am also a human so treat me with the same respect you'd want yourself.
