Singer Eric Carmen passed away in his sleep this past weekend at the age of 74, according to a statement released by his wife Amy yesterday. Carmen was the lead singer for the group 'The Raspberries' in the early 70s before striking out on his own as a solo singer by the mid-70s. Carmen (one of my favorite male singers) had top 40 hits such as 'All By Myself', 'Never Gonna Fall In Love Again' and 'Hungry Eyes'. His 1977 album 'Boats Against The Current' is considered by many as one of the best albums of the 1970s.

I'm disappointed that CBS canceled their morning show with Phil Mattingly a few weeks ago. I don't mind watching John Berman a few hours earlier than usual (always had a crush on him), but Mattingly always had that 'woke up with a boner' look on his face. As a side note, I used to hire (on a regular basis) a local escort who was from Spain who looked exactly like Berman. Hired him for a good five years or so - then he ghosted me a few years ago. Not sure why - we always had a great time.

Oprah Winfrey is parting ways with Weight Watchers after nearly 10 years on the company’s board of directors. The company says that Winfrey told the board this week that she would not stand for reelection at the company’s next annual meeting, set for May 9. Winfrey has been a board member and a public face for Weight Watchers since 2015. The company says that Winfrey will still continue to work as a public advocate on behalf of weight health and obesity issues, including co-hosting an event together in May. It also says that Winfrey will donate all her shares in the company to the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Winfrey disclosed in December that she was using a prescription drug to manage her weight. Red Lobster tried opening in my area (Southeastern New England) about thirty years ago, with three restaurants. They obviously didn't do their research correctly, as we have enough seafood restaurants in a variety of price points all over the state - all locally caught, fresh fish. Who would want to go to RL and get a freezer-to-fryolator dinner ? Within a few years, they all closed. Olive Garden also tried moving into our state as well as Spaghetti Warehouse. Again, aside from seafood, our other #1 cusine is Italian - being a heavily Italian state. We have a plethora of Italian restaurants in every price point on every corner. I believe there's only one OG left - near a college campus. The Spaghetti Warehouse closed in less than a year.

There's a well-known RM/Masseur who lives in my town but also travels around the country frequently. I've hired him a once or twice years ago, and he was just 'meh' for me (he has a great muscled body). Anyhow, for the longest time he advertised as '29' then bumped up to '35' a few years ago. In actuality, he's going to be 50 next month on St. Paddy's Day. I know for a fact because he frequents a business where I work, and needs to show ID for service. I've waited on him very recently (he didn't appear to remember me at all) and recognized him from his ads right away. Believe me, he doesn't look 35. He still has a tight muscled body, though.

I'm giving the 'new Amazon Prime Video' a try (before I pay the extra $3) and so far, the ads have not been intrusive. There's one which airs before the show I want to watch begins, and that's it. No other ads in between. No need to invest another three bucks !

This week's episode was rather slow, though Naomi Watts probably earned an Emmy for her stellar performance.

I remember him from the ABC show "Revenge". He played Nolan's boyfriend, from what I recall.

That didn't bother me too much. Usually it does, but I think for this series it worked well.
