  1. Prostitution is the oldest profession and while the majority of that is heterosexual, homosexual sex is practiced by at least 12% of the male population. But for a long time and even in most gay social circles, hiring an escort is not usually discussed. In Palm Springs section of Rentmen, there have been as many as 15 pages of escorts for a population of 150000 in the great Palm Springs area. There is a lot of money and bodily fluids being exchanged
  2. Depends on personal standards. Some have them and some can look past them.
  3. I know sexual assault is real and damaging, but it seems many of these allegations only come to light years after the event and only after the alleged perpetrator has gotten a significant degree of financial stability. Until proven, allegations are just that, some are just bitterness and gossip. I know nothing of this show nor the person being accused, but I am tired of these johnny come lately accusations and the rush to establish a hands off attitude. In the 1990 s one of my medical students accused me of not giving her honors due to sexual discrimination. Her evidence of this was a Nicole Miller tie with the title night and day. I had many Nicole Miller graphic ties and this one had an stylishly sexy business woman wearing a long black business suit and stilettos and fishnet stockings. The student told the medical school that she would drop the allegations if her grade was changed to the "honors" she felt she deserved. I refused to change her grade and faxed a copy of the tie to the dean. The matter was dropped at that point. She suffered no consequences of her manipulative accusation.
  4. Are you looking for clothing optional? Inndulge while not a opulent has several entrances and exits which do not require the guest to go through the lobby as is the case in Vista Grande. It is also considerably less expensive. As I am more a blue collar hotel guy, others would likely have better ideas.
  5. Are you going solo or with someone? They can be hard nosed about guests.
  6. No one prepared me for how difficult it is to direct a urinary stream as you get older. In the house I just sold, I had a urinal and that made for an easy and clean urination. I miss that urinal about as much as I miss the bowl these days.
  7. After my recent move to Palm Springs, I decided to commit to working out as an aid to health and an aid to meeting people. In the past, I have worked out for weeks and even months at a time but always gave up. I have hired a trainer through a gym, but the trainers did not stay with that gym long enough to establish a good rapport. Now, I hired a private trainer at the gym and I sse him two days a week. If nothing else, I get those two days in but more usually it is 5 days a week and on some days, water aerobics in my pool. Even though I am doing okay financially, the cost of the trainer and the gym is significant but definitely worth it. I am assured that I will go and now the routine has set in such that when I miss a day, I miss the experience of the exercise. I am about twice the age of the OP and I wish I had been more diligent about exercise earlier. Invest in a trainer, even if it is once a week for only a few months. It will help you develop a routine with good form and consistency. BTW. Do not skip leg days. Everyone hates leg day. Just check out many of the well built guys at the gym and many will have great upper bodies and legs that seem disproportionately small. But especially as you age, leg strength and flexibility becomes more and more important so do the leg day even if you feel your legs are doing well.
  8. Got a call from him yesterday. He had some personal issues with his family and pets. He is busy doing ex military parachute jumping displays. He still is available to be seen but it does take some doing. He has always been erratic in his replies so patience and persistence are features of the successful arrangement. He still looks great. I had a meeting with him here in Palm Springs about 6 weeks ago and he looked great and is as enthusiastic and sexy as ever. He will be here for the Palm Springs weekend even if I need to fly there and kidnap him.
  9. This is a get together of forum members and their friends and assorted escorts. The event entails several get togethers over a weekend. These events include a dinner, a welcome barbecue, a pool party and in the past, a breakfast. These range from mild to moderate with nothing significantly wild going on at the events themselves, for the most part. Probably R rated is a dramatic as it gets in the open spaces with some X rated activities in private. Many of the guests stay at the same resorts, Inndulge, Hacienda, Canyon Club are three. There are informal events such as hikes, trips to casinos, dinner, karaoke which are arranged by the guests. It is mostly a chance to see meet fellow posters, escorts. Fun in the sun. Temperatures are usually in the 80s to 90s during the day and 60s at night. The first people arriving from out of town usually get there the Thursday and most people who are coming from out of town stay from 4 to 7 days. That is the thumbnail version of the events.
  10. You should definitely come. I can guarantee you at least one encounter of the close kind. Most of the people who come to town are here for more than just the weekend. And there are some full time PS residents as well as seasonal residents. I doubt you would have an issue breaking even. There are also several people from NY that come, so you may pick up a regular or two.
  11. Oliver, if you may still do this, please do. You are great at it and it has always been an entertaining weekend. It seemed that you were only going to be in PS for a few days, but I did not realize that there was a possibility that you would still host under those circumstances. Far be it from me to interfere in anyway. Once it is decided, either way, let us all know.
  12. There does seem to be sufficient interest. I will begin preliminary investigation to the possibility of doing this. My house seems too small for this kind of event and so I am looking into some sites with a pool that might host such an event. I have checked giggster.com and there do seem to be houses which can be rented by the hour. Once Pride is done here in Palm Springs, I will look into this further. for example this house: https://giggster.com/listing/midcentury-modern-house-with-rat-pack-vibes
  13. Always good to have your machine checked against a manual BP. I used to encourage my patients to bring in their home BP cuff and check the BP measurements at the one visit making sue they were relaitvely close.
  14. Blood pressure readings can vary widely and the proper way to take it for the most accurate reading is at rest for 5 minutes at least, seated with both feet on the ground and with an appropriate size cuff. The blood pressure should be taken once and then repeated every few minutes until there are two readings with the systolic BP (upper number) of the readings being withing 10 and the diastolic (lower number) within 5. This is much more involved than blood pressure readings usually are. There are so many factors which can cause tranient elevations and decreases in BP and as a result improperly taken BP as a single reading is likely to be minimally useful.
  15. In the past, I have used my childhood phone number with an exchange as my password. It was useless information that was repurposed and did not require a great memory to recall. For awhile I added special characters at the end but that did start to be problematic in recall which ones I used and how many. In the past I also used the letters in the phone numbers of some import to make a word which made it easier to recall the number. Now mnemonics and other devices to recall information is essentially obsolete.
  16. My brother a diabetic who needed to lose weight was fine until 7.5 and then the shit hit the fan and everywhere else. He could not leave his house for more than two weeks and he was off the medication for another month. In that time he regained the 30 pounds he had lost. He restarted at 2.5 and is now on 5 mg. He does not intend to go higher as his HgbA1C is under 6.7 and he has not had a recurrence of the diarrhea. He has lost about 50 pounds off of a 270 pound frame over the last 7 months. To be totally open about it, in that same time he was diagnosed with lung cancer, had curative surgery but he has been unable to exercise to any extent, so his weight loss is strictly due to diet changes. His lack of recovery of muscle tone after the surgery could be due to the medication.
  17. Without knowing who suggested the bath house in the first place, it is hard to call the provider a scam artist. In addition, even if it was the provider, the OP could have said no. The OP states that he felt uncomfortable with the first room and asked to change it. So the provider was willing, at least initially, to provide some service. This happened before the OP sent the fee and at this point he had several options. However, it seems the OP's anxiety spiraled and the provider did not do anything to make the situation better. The entire "I am a cop and my cousin is downstairs and he is also a cop" definitely sounds like a gaslighting. The escort apparently took advantage of the OP's anxiety. So I would say that the OP has to take responsibility for placing himself in a situation that he knew had the potential to make him uncomfortable and once he was uncomfortable he did very little to end the situation. The escort on the other hand, may not have intended initially to gaslight the OP, but once he did, he was sadistic in exploiting him. I think either the OP or the provider should have had a Moonstruck moment. (with or without the slap)
  18. IF this happens, it will be to give closure to the years this event has taken place and it will give those who have attended the chance to catch up and make for future arrangements. Anyone is welcome to arrange a similar or similarly based event in LA or any other city. Several years of events took place in DC using MAL with moderate success. That being said, I hope that new people will come this year. Once I hear that there is sufficient interest, 20 to 25 people who will likely attend, then I will look into what it would take to make this event work. Oliver will be present and I am sure he will add insights that have allowed this to be a success over the 20 0dd years of this event. So far, ten people have answered in the affirmative and I expect more will be forthcoming.
  19. Nate, stop is not a reason to stop tickling. Almost everyone says stop when they are being tickled. Perhaps a safe word like STOPITASSHOLE would work better.
  20. It seems Oliver will be in Palm Springs for only a short time this year and as such, he is not going to be hosting the yearly get together. I have some ideas as to how to continue this tradition but I will only begin to look into the feasibility of such an undertaking if there is sufficient interest in attending. So, if you believe it is highly likely you would attend a get together for the weekend of April 9 to 13, please answer in this thread. Once again, thanks to Oliver for many years of hard party planning.
  21. It appears to be the end of an era. This saddens me but it is understandable that all good things come to an end. I think we all need to thank Oliver for all his hard work. I do raise the issue that if there were to be a weekend such as we have had in the past, how many people are willing to attend. I have several ideas as to how this tradition could be continued. Different but with the same feeling about it, but it would require quite a bit of work and time and if there is not sufficient interest, I would not even beging to look into how to do it. I will start another thread asking for likely attendees.
  22. I might have contacted him when you found he was making the presentation. It would have been an excellent time to either ask him to pay you back so you could make a donation to real charity and not one such as the one he concocted for himself. I would have mentioned that his hard work has worked out, but there is no free ride. I would also advise him that if he made a donation to a specified charity, he could sent you the receipt and he could take the tax benefit. What this young man was deceitful and a few tears at a McDonald's is not enough. In addition, his grandfather likely could have given him the money. If he did not ask there or did not receive it there, there was likely a good reason. Given his aunt's response, it seems likely that he had pulled other scams. It is fine that you are fine with the outcome, but I would only feel okay if he did indeed pay back the money either to me or pay it forward to a charity. Going to the meeting to meet him face to face would have been my option if he did not agree to a charitable recompensation. But hey, I am Sicilian, so my credo is similar to Don Corleone. (lion heart for those that never gave it much thought).
  23. His impact here and on the people who post here is obvious in the loving way people still speak of him. I know he was a great freind to you and many on the forum.
  24. Not taking Biktarvy is a dangerous solution as even missing a few doses may decrease effectiveness and allow for mutation which may lead it to being ineffective against his strain of the virus. I understand that there are financial constraints but he should discuss with his physician the better alternative whether that be not taking any medication or taking a different less expensive choice. Please suggest that he not handle this delicate balance of medication without guidance from his physician. At the very least, have him google is it dangerous to miss a Biktarvy dose and he will get quite a bit information regarding why it is potentially dangerous.
  25. As a physician who worked at St Vincent's in Greenwich Village from 1976 until 1979 and who opened in 1982, in a nearby suburb of NYC, an office which offered free service to HIV patients, mostly from Manhattan, who had nowhere else to go, the toll was devastating on everyone who was involved. I worked in that office until 1988. In 1988, a powerful physician in the area had a son who contracted HIV related to his hemophilia and that led the hospital to add an HIV clinic. Up until I retired one year ago, I was still diagnosing new cases of HIV and still having difficulty finding appropriate care for newly diagnosed. The long tern survivors are a great resource for the newly diagnosed and in many cases, they know the ins and outs of the HIV medical care system better than the people running it. All one has to do to realize that HIV is not a thing of the past or a chronic disease that can always be managed is to go to the intake area of a local HIV facility. One look at Scruff or Tinder and the number pf profiles that list undetectable as a status is remarkable and it is also a warning to those of us who remain negative. Prep is only effective if you take it without fail. Those of us who are negative need to take care to stay that way. We need to disabuse the concept that becoming positive and then just taking the medication is a reasonable option. Yes, I have seen newly diagnosed patients who were "bug chasers". Social support, emotional support and financial support is needed for all those dealing with this scurge. Just because it does not make the headlines very often if at all these days, does not mean the problem has disappeared.
