Consider this a Public Service Announcement for anyone who might hire at Disney World in Orlando.

I was there for a work conference last week. I was staying at a very nice Disney Resort hotel. Even though I was not hiring an escort there, I had to email with an escort for an appointment coming up next week.

After a conference meeting, I had an hour to kill before my next meeting. I sat down at a table with an umbrella at my beautiful Disney resort pool and took out my phone to catch up on email. I checked my work emails - and then I needed to send an email through Rentmen to my escort friend. When I brought up Rentmen on my phone, the internet browser on my phone told me that Rentmen was down. I tried again and the same thing happened.

I first thought that FOSTA had finally resulted in the shutdown of Rentmen. I googled and found nothing to support that theory. I then thought that maybe Rentmen was just down for maintenance.

Several hours later in the lobby of my hotel, I tried again - and again I could not access Rentmen. I then wondered if Rentmen specifically was being blocked for some reason. So I tried bringing up Pornhub - and it was blocked too. Then I tried Xtube and - same story. Disney was blocking my accesss to any adult websites.

After dinner in my room, I tried again and I had no problem accessing the websites. I was only blocked in the public areas - at the swimming pool and in the hotel lobby. Just for fun, I tried the next day when I was standing on Main Street in front of Cinderella's Castle in the Magic Kingdom - and of course I was blocked.

So for anyone who cares - if you try to use a website to access an escort in a public area at Disney World when you are there - the Mouse says NO!

We just can't assume that was nothing but a coincidence, I wonder if other hotels or even cities could follow to please religious zealots (some post on here) and give them "prostitution free zones"?

Disney is famous for the cover ups of child molesters kidnapping and abusing kids in their resorts... Just pathetic!

I'm only marginally bothered by that practice.

Overall, I'm not a fan of censorship. So if forced, I'd say I'm opposed. Because all initial censorship is a slippery slope.

However, Disney is a private company. I wouldn't want the curious youngsters in my family seeing escort sites. Or porn. Inquisitive minds that watch every screen - phones, tablets, laptops - in their environment, including glances at strangers'. If the company can be very precise with blocking technology in public spaces, its ok with me. I'd have a very different reaction if also blocked in private spaces, like hotel rooms.

Do the airlines block adult sites? I wouldn't want to sit adjacent some guy watching porn on a plane. The porn wouldn't offend me, but I'd be judgmental about my seatmate's overall common sense.

And for those who don't know.... the following sites are blocked

  • MediaFactCheck.org
  • AmericanPsychiatricAssoc.org
  • CNN.com,
  • StormysTruth.net,
  • Comey.com, Comey.net, & AHigherLoyalty.com

At Mar-A-Lago

It's not a public facility. Their wifi, their rules. Happens to me all the time at many, many businesses. Turn off wifi and use cellular, problem solved. I never get bent out of shape by it.

When it comes down to it, rentmen is a site that facilitates illegal activity. You really can't fault Disney for blocking access to it and similar sites. And no, I'm not a prude; I do hire. I also sat on a jury once for a prostitution-related case after telling the judge during jury selection that I thought prostitution should be legal.

And what was the verdict? Enquiring minds want to know!

With all the talk about privacy, using burner phones, special email accounts just for contacting escort sites, VPNs, cash only for fear of tracing credit card transactions, and the list goes on why in the world would anyone open Rentmen or this site in a public place? Anyone looking over your shoulder will see what you are doing. Not to mention that the wifi in a hotel lobby is not secure.

Here’s a comment that might be a little off-topic but maybe relevant.

Czech or Slovak porn sites such as Bel Ami, Staxus or William Higgins are blocked in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and most probably in Hungary as well. Now, don’t think it is government censorship or anything like that: this is a policy enforced by the sites themselves, ostensibly to protect their models’ privacy. This could have been relevant twenty years ago, but nowadays you can find their videos in places like pornhub or xtube, which defeats the purpose. There are also ways to circumvent this ban: in Prague I used a simple VPN to access them, and none the wiser.

Maccas here also blocks adult content, including this site. As does the free wi-fi at Sydney Central Station. Curiously, the wi-fi at the Sydney Cricket Ground does not. I have yet to have a problem at a hotel either here or in the US, although I have not tried to use it in public areas.

I've lately noticed that wifi at Kaiser Permanente has started blocking Boytoy lately but not the forums part of this site. PITA because cell signals won't reach into the building. I don't know what company does the filters but they seem to be getting stricter.

Cover ups of molesters? That’s a strong allegation. Can you provide background?

I’ve hired guys who worked there and they informed about it.

Considering I’ve been posting on here for 6years (and most of the time I post a link to an article) yinz can trust my word on this matter as something reliable folks informed me about it.

Don't feel singled out, even our dear Daddy has subscribed the site to several aggregators of adult sites. Sites like CyberPatrol curate the adult site lists for Disney, et al to set their website to block. X=rated access.

From daddysreveiws.com

We suggest the following products to restrict access to adult material.

CyberPatrol

SurfWatch

NetNanny

If a hotel had the resources they could screen wifi usage to look for signs of trouble or activities they might choose to discourage. It's unlikely that they'd go to the trouble, but my paranoia let me to avoid a conspicuous presence on hotel wifi when I searched for escorts or Craigslist hookups while traveling. I've always depended on Internet access through my personal data plan either directly off my phone's browser or as a wifi hotspot.

It's been a while since I've stayed at a Disney property, but when I've done so I've had no problem hosting escorts. I've also had no problem hooking up with other guests for discreet encounters.
