So for many years I use to be very meticulous and record all I spent with my guy friends. Just to keep track. Haven't done so in a while but starting now because I plan to retire. Anyone else keep a spreadsheet on what they spend on companionship or however you want to define that including travel companion? Just wondered

No...Too disciplined, too methodical. I have a mental note of what I'm comfortable spending every month and I've never really exceeded that amount, well...there was this one night, but that's a Jerry Springer show. I sorta figure that if they come to turn the lights out, then I've spent too much.

At one point what I did was set a certain amount of discretionary money I could spend, convert that to a daily figure, then any day I spent less than that on movies, eating out, etc, I would put the difference in an envelope. And whatever was in that envelope at any given time was the most I could spend.

I'm too cheap to frivolously spend. My hires are planned, and centered around special events, like birthdays, and I actually SAVE up for it, which in my mind makes it more special. I am retired, and have more than enough money where such disciplined behavior is NOT necessary. I guess its some sort of sickness ? I never had alot of money, and now that I do, I am afraid it will go away if I am free with it.... Maybe I need to spend some on therapy ?

If hiring becomes compulsive then it may be time for some therapy.

I keep track too. Their rate, any tip, cost of any gift I bring (e.g. bottle of wine), tolls, parking charges, drinks at the bar of their hotel if I arrive early, etc.. It really adds up.

That’s a novel idea. I can only estimate, but since it’s the new year, I’ll start doing it. For example, trips to Nordstrom to buy them J Brand jeans, shoes, weekends at hotels. I’m almost afraid to see the totals!

I also keep track on a spreadsheet, have data going back 20 years, added financial 12 years ago. I started mostly to keep track of who I like (repeats with FB's and escorts) and later how much I was spending. Sadly spending dropped off last year mostly due to a lack of local quality. Luckily pros like to visit here. ;)

Given the title, I was hoping to see a number somewhere ...

It actually led to me spending quite a bit less on entertainment. I recommend it to anyone who's having trouble budgeting. Once you get over the hump of the first month where there's never going to be that much in the envelope, it's nice to watch it physically grow.

I have kept a list of who all I have hired, be it for a session, or for an overnight along with where. I can see the value in how much I may have spent, but for me it was more about the pleasure shared rather than money output.

I am FAR from a compulsive Hirer, in fact its Rare for me.... I am the original advocate of "dont be lazy, go out and find it for FREE" school....:p

Didn’t mean to imply that YOUR hiring is compulsive. It was meant in the general sense.
