Was anyone surprised to see that Matthew just turned 44?

I'm surprised. I thought he was closer to my age (36). Wikipedia and other sites have his birth year at 1972, and they say he's 45 today. ?

I saw Matthew several years ago at the Dunes Resort here in Michigan. He was the hired "go-go" dancer for the night, doing his thing atop the bar. I'm so shy that I didn't say anything to him, of course, but I did touch his boot as he passed in front of me. It was exhilarating. He was my first gay porn crush when I first came out and got into gay porn about 15 years ago.

That was good on you to stick through it with him. We all have to learn the hard way though. I've had friends like that. The stories are always the same. Just interchange the names. It's funny the day I decided to avoid Meth myself and then later the users is the day the drama stopped for good.

If PNP is ever in your profile it's 100% I'll avoid you like the plague. There's no such thing as casual use of Meth. You either are or you aren't a fucked up Tweaker. Not to mention they pick up std's like a sponge.

Well, I disagree. There is casual use of Meth. I casually partied in my first years here in the States. Three times. I never felt the need to become an habitual user. The last time I did not even realized I was high until I stopped fucking and noticed my knees were bleeding (after hours of doggy fucking a guy on a rough carpet). Shitty. It is just a stupid drug. And lethal if you get addicted.

Seems you're lucky. Even after trying meth...but why would you?

I have a long and sordid history with meth. It is exceedingly rare to remain a casual user for any length of time, but it does happen. I was a very casual user for several years, but then "graduated" to most weekends, and then started losing control. Most everyone I knew was using and it became impossible for me to say "no." I had to move to another state and go cold turkey to break the craving.

Several years after that, I was able to start seeing those friends again and partying on an occasional basis, but I've never lived near them since. I would never hang out with anyone in my current daily life who is a user. It would be much too large of a temptation for me.

I do not like regular users. It is one of the less tempting drugs I have ever tried.

I have lost friends and family member to Meth. Not enough begging and pleading can get one to stop until the addict has hit a bottom. Too often that bottom is death.

I don't want to "like" this post, because I don't like the fact that you have gone through this. However, I agree and empathize with you. I,too have a friend who died as a result of his meth use and a former friend who keeps messing himself up with meth.

Regarding his age, I think he got into the business older than many others did. They don't all get into porn on their 18th birthday and his size was something people that age simply can't attain.

I find that now that cigarette smoking is much rarer, people are looking younger considerably longer than in the past. That plus more men are using some sort of moisturizer.

I don't think anyone can say, how many times u can use a drug, before u are hooked. I have smoked ice, the purest form. And too me, what was so scary about it. Was the fact that I was so wide awake and the clarity. But that is the trap, it's not Like cocaine and Other Drugs. When you do it, you don't really seem that f***** up. So, you start going, oh I could do this some more. Because I get so many things done. I have done my fair share of drugs, never done acid, and never injected myself. To this day, I still crave cocaine. Even though it has been over 5 years, since I have done any. But if I even get a hint of the smell, the bells just go off. That is the problem with addiction. As I stated before, to anyone and everyone that use drugs. Remember the anachronism for YET. You are eligible to! You can become just like that pic of Matthew Rush. I feel for him. I am sorry for him. And yes, I pity him.

It's really tiresome when people generalize based on their own experience and talk about someone they really don't know--he may have been using for many years. The sad thing to me is that he's 45 year old guy who seems to be living like a 25 year old. Not a good prognosis for the future.

Buck, not trying to pick a fight. But, I don't think someone drawing from their own experience, is wrong. Not sure exactly who your post is directed at, but I think your comment "It's really tiresome when people generalize based on their own experience and talk about someone they really don't know-". Is really uncalled for! U do not have to know someone personally, to comment on addiction. I have been to rehab, been through all the cross addictions. So, I not just some one that has done a line or smoked a little at a party, making a comment. From what I have read, most of the posters, are trying to help. No one has attacked Matthew Rush, they are just trying to help. Sorry if I took your comment personally, but addiction is very personal to me. And anyone who is trying to share past experience on this information, should be greeted with open arms.

Apparently I did not see the error in my last post, as was pointed out by the grammar police....

That would be the vocabulary police. Grammar police would have pointed out that you should either have omitted the period between the words "fight" and "but" and the comma after the word "but" or used the word "However" instead of "But" in the following:

Buck, not trying to pick a fight. But, I don't think someone drawing from their own experience, is wrong. ...

:p
