You need to look on the bright side of this no show. Derek saved you at least $300 by flaking. So you were disappointed he did not show but if he had and the experience was mediocre then you're out hundreds of bucks and disappointed as well.

Agree but, unfortunately, I've been in the same position as @nycman - sitting in a hotel room waiting on a no-show and it's a small consolation.

I've tried to adopt the bright-side attitude that it would likely have been a lousy experience anyway but that doesn't make up for a day lost.

 

If I'm travelling on a 3-day business trip I orchestrate a couple of hires on day 1 & 3 around business stuff and if one is a no-show it fouls up my planning. More simply, same concept as a no-show client having wasted an escort's time when he could have had another client. After my most recent Houston no-show I have new appreciation for travelling companions no-show-client frustrations.
