(Also, Mr. Gaite, kudos for the Shakespearean reference and double entendre in your last post. I had to research which play that stage direction comes from.)

Oh dear, I thought it stood on its own, I am shamed by not realising there was a subtext. I should have expected such a subtext from Mr Gaite! And it's only autumn here, not winter.

I recognized the line/stage direction, although since I've never read or seen The Winter's Tale, I'm not sure why I recognized it.

Perhaps, to tie this back to the subject of the thread, we should be thinking of ways to convince more lurkers, whoever they may be, to create accounts and participate.

Should we be welcoming and appreciative to self-identified gay bashers, homophobes, racists, pedophiles, and religious anti-sex nutcases?

Short answer no, but that is a preposterous suggestion to draw from QTR's comment. There are people who read the forum but do not comment, to characterise them as you did is outrageous and inflammatory.

No, of course not. But as Mike Carey says, why would such people be reading this? (I'm not talking about possible LE/DOJ surveillance, which we know has occurred.) And if they were, why would they create accounts knowing they might quickly be crushed by the ban hammer?

I was also addressing the objection that I think you as well as others raised that we had gone off topic. I therefore find it odd that you chose that statement to quarrel with the way you have.

Actually, LADoug1 inspired my response, whom I quoted on the previous page. quoththeraven's post simply reminded me of gay hate speech I read somewhere that used a quote from this website to make its "gays are damned to hell" rant.

I agree, no one can control who lurks and who joins. No one truly knows who is a he or a she. But I think it's silly to suggest that "all people should be welcomed and appreciated here."

The words preposterous, outrageous, and inflammatory seem way over the top to me. Misguided, too.

It is also important to point out that the anonymous nature of online forums ensures we do not know who is behind a screen name. There might be more female forum members than you think.

And they might be your mother or your sister (or your wife).

They're still welcome.

Perhaps you would agree with this version:

All people, should be welcomed and appreciated here. Those who choose to engage in so-called "hate speech" will be banned. (That's typically what happens after they have been warned to knock it off)

I'm sorry for posting an insensitive thread topic. I didn't realize the implications of my original question, and I am sorry for disrespecting the community. I apologize to those I offended. I hope this thread gets deleted ASAP.

It's time for me to exit pursued by a bear.

I recognized the line/stage direction, although since I've never read or seen The Winter's Tale, I'm not sure why I recognized it.

This exit line is famous enough that it was not a bottom row question on Jeopardy! Why I remember that, well who the hell knows how memory works.

Though it's not my favorite Shakespeare play, I have seen a couple of really fine productions of it. Here's just a bit of context for this stage direction:

“Well may I get aboard. [He sees a bear.] This is the chase:

I am gone for ever! [Exit pursued by a bear.]”

William Shakespeare, The Winter's Tale

Another quote from Winter's Tale I like: “It is an heretic that makes the fire, Not she which burns in't.”

and:

“LEONTES ~ A gross hag

And, lozel, thou art worthy to be hang'd, That wilt not stay her tongue.

ANTIGONUS ~ Hang all the husbands

That cannot do that feat, you'll leave yourself Hardly one subject.”

This section speaks to me and it is in the speech right after the bear chases Antigonus off stage:

Old Shepherd:

I would there were no age between sixteen and

three-and-twenty, or that youth would sleep out the

rest; for there is nothing in the between but

getting wenches with child, wronging the ancientry,

stealing, fighting—Hark you now! Would any but

these boiled brains of nineteen and two-and-twenty

hunt this weather

I'm brand new and I would only say that maybe there should be a "welcome, tell us about yourself" section?

That would be titled "FICTION".... :p

I guess I'm naive. Didn't consider the many crazy creeps who might lurk or try and inflame conversations. I guess I mean that members should not be excluded merely because they're women. That's misogamy. And as for discussions about vaginas, they may not be my cup of tea but we make lots of jokes about male genitalia so all is fair game.

Lastly, I guess what bothers me most is that this post has taken so many detours. I know that's not unusual but to me it detracts from the serious nature of the OP's original question which in my opinion was a good one.

Daddy is listening but doesn't feel comfortable posting in the forum right now..

Daddy is set up on Paypal but doesn't like to use it much because of their anti-adult business practices; http://www.paypalsucks.com/ and because they charge a fee 2.9% + 30 cents.

At one point Paypal tied up a considerable amount of Hooboys cash for an extended period.

Daddy is also set up on Google Wallet who also has restrictive policies, however does not appear to charge him a fee.

He's not willing to make the addresses public, so email Daddy for info. Other suggestions are welcome.
