I just noticed that my rank has been raised from Marquess to Duke. Unfortunately, this is likely to create some tension in my household, where there is already a Duke, who claims precedence. I was only an Earl when he came to reside with us, so he is generally recognized as the Duke of Earl.

Congratulations Charlie in becoming a Duke. :). Deep down inside you have to be excited.

Charlie, just take Duke out for a walk, play fetch with him, make sure you give him en extra helping of Purina, and be sure that he has plenty of fresh water. I'm sure he'll come around and these petty resentments will just drop away and be something you'll both look back on in the years to come with a smile. He'll be back in your lap in no time.

If he is still resistant, try to persuade him to a theology of plenty rather than scarcity - the fact that your house now has two Dukes (or other royalty?!) should not threaten the status quo - there is always enough to go around.

Good luck and congratulations. And thanks - I always enjoy your posts.

Well I'm not one to talk, but....I was raised to 'Regent'. Not that it's gone to my head or anything.

regent

noun re·gent \ˈrē-jənt\

: a person who rules a kingdom when the king or queen is not able to rule because he or she is sick, too young, etc.

So when Daddy goes to PS, looks like I's be in charge. ;)

The last time I looked, I couldn't find anything about how this works. Is it based strictly on number of posts, or does it also count things like length of time and number of likes?

Here's the breakdown (based on number of posts) rguer:

0 – 9 Newbie

10-24 Novice

25-49 Apprentice

50-99 Journeyman

100-249 Master

250-499 Knight

500-749 Lord

750-999 Baron

1000-1999 Viscount

2000-2999 Count

3000-3999 Earl

4000-4999 Marquess

5000-5999 Duke

6000-6999 Peer

7500 to 9999 Prince

10000+ Regent

There's no 'Regent' on here. BVB must be a special case-possibly for service above and beyond call to the realm?

Could it be for exquisite period taste in decorating?

Between 7000 and 7500 posts there is a gap Perhaps that is when you are placed in the tower and held captive and whipped and tortured. No wait, that is when you visit Whipped Guy. So what does happen in that gap. I hear there is frequently a lot of activity in gaps.

Besides that missing 500 in "the gap" I notice BVB has a few more than 10,000 posts so it should be changed to

7500 to 9999 Prince

10000+ Regent

...and it's changed!!!
