I noticed on another site that there was mention that this month marks five years since HooBoy's passing. I thought it would be appropriate for anyone interested to post something in remembrance of him. It is amazing to me how someone I never met could have had such a profound positive impact on my life. Since I discovered his site I have had tremendous experiences that I would not trade for anything. My only regret was that I never had the chance to truly thank HooBoy for what he did for me so I like to think that wherever he is he is enjoying the company of someone special, looking down at all the fun he helped me have and is smiling

Hooboy actually died in early March of 2005. Only two weeks earlier, we had held the first of the Palm Springs Hooville Weekends, at which we had toasted Hooboy and discussed the possibility of getting him to join us in celebration the following year; no one in attendance had ever met him, and unfortunately we never did.

I joined the site in Sept. 1999, shortly after it was founded, and in the ensuing years I did exchange many private emails with Hooboy, particularly when his sister was dying and he was distraught. He was a mercurial character with a lifestyle very different from mine, and I'm sure that more than a few hours in his company would have run me ragged, but I'm sorry I never got to thank him in person for all the pleasure he has provided for me over the years.

The One and Only!

HOOBOY was an Original who did more for the "Working Guys" than anyone! ;)

P.S. He also put up Saturday Reviews! So the boys had a little more Weekend EXPOSURE! :D

I found this website around 2001 or so and it has been fantastic....it's helped me move along toward facing my situation and the message center chatter has been incredible....

I remember the occasional posts by hooboy (he didn't really post a lot) as being to-the-point and practical...and always with that Dietrich avatar.....seemingly always traveling to some exotic land, he always had the reviews up every day by 6am or so, wherever he was....he'd occasionally mention something about losing his laptop....or losing all his travel documents....and I worried how stressful it might be on him....it never seemed to bother him much, it seemed.....

thank you, Daddy, for taking over and keeping this a great place and keeping the message center thriving and polite....

this is an invaluable resource for many people....

I think along with remembering Hoo Boy a special thanks and big hugs needs to go out to Daddy. Despite all the mc drama I think that Daddy has done a good job at keeping the mc going and posting reviews. I don't know what HB would have wanted after his death since I did not know him but I am glad Daddy picked up the ball and continued what HB started. So big thanks Daddy!

Hugs,

Greg

Thanks Hooboy

I didn't know anything about hiring escorts and I think I gave almost all of them a hard time. It was due to misunderstanding, inexperience and largely due to my immaturity. I kept hiring escorts to myself and had no one to share my experiences, frustrations, and thoughts with until I came here. It has been a great experience here and I really thank Hooboy for it. I've comforted, loved and encouraged by many people here even though they have never met me. Thank you Hooboy for making it possible this great community where escorts and clients can interact and learn from one another. Thank you for creating a space where a minority like us can vent and console another. I don't know what other things you've achieved in your life but I want to say that you can add this community to many of your great achievement in life. I pray that you rest in peace.

I would like to extend my appreciation to Daddy and other moderators. Many kisses and hugs~~

Hooboy originated this website (and the entire genre, really).

Like most of us, he had a long history of so-so escort encounters and then he had a wonderful, fantastic session with a guy in New Jersey. He decided he HAD to tell someone about it, and here we are today.

Do you recall the NJ escort? As a Jersey Boy was just curious as to whom it may have been.

With Gratitude.

Hooboy sure sounds like a wonderful fella. I wish, too, that I had met him. Thankfully, his vision and legacy lives on because of Daddy's dedication and commitment to this wonderful site and MC.

R.I.P.--Hooboy. Thank YOU, Daddy.

I was one of the luckier ones. I did get to meet the great and Powerful OZ 'Hooboy in Houston it was quite by accident and I was with an escort at the time and we went to visit this guy and guess who it was. We went and had lunch and then Hooboy and I talked a few other times on the phone I admired him for what he did for people and how he helped us on and thanks to the guys who keep in going. HUGS Chuck

The avatar is Greta Garbo, the sphynx-like actress who didn't utter a word in public after she left the limelight of Hollywood. Someone said Dietrich, another great actress from that era. She might have suited Hooboy as well but I think Garbo does it better. Let's say both ladies were of ambiguous sexuality.
