Masseurs asking for full name

Has any masseur asked you for your first/last name during the first interaction when you request a massage?

I've given a first name before but never a last name. I found it rather odd.

Seems odd to ask. But also just give a fake name so it's not a big deal.

No, and unless a rare case where their first and last name is in their ad, we don't need to know theirs, either. That's invasiveness enough to not bother.

I gave them a first name but I said I was not comfortable giving a last name. He instantly shut the conversation down saying "If I'm not comfortable giving my full name, then he's not comfortable being alone with me."

He said he was gonna enter my name in his "Vagaro" system. I'm like.. yea.. no..

Vagaro is a system used by one of the masseurs in NYC who runs his own spa.  You can book appointments online without having to text the masseur, he takes credit cards, gives receipts, etc.  I agree, you shouldn't have to give him your name if you want to pay in cash, otherwise he would know your full name if paying electronically.

One guy said he had to see my test results (both stf and covid) with my full name. I blocked him. 

 

First, this is a massage. Second, I am positive you are not hipaa compliant. Just weird imo.

No one has ever asked for my full name.  I only give my first name but they can easily find out my last name and a lot more since I give my real phone number.  I know at least two of them tried to find me on Facebook based on their personal profiles coming up as recommended friends.

If payments are made electronically full names are shared (by both parties) unless an alias is being used on Venmo or Cash App

I had that happen to me for the first time about three weeks ago. It was a new provider, profile less than four months old, asking for my full name, address and  what I do for a living. WTH???. I just thanked him for his time and wished him a nice day.

That's why I always pay in $cash$.

I only pay in cash and ALWAYS give a fake name. Even guys I've been seeing for years know me by my fake name.

Yeah I've had a couple guys ask me to describe myself ... requesting that I give my race, height, weight, and body type 😳
