+ Lucky Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Treasury Secretary Scott Besssent will be the first openly gay man to sign US currency. Haven't seen any complaints about it. + Charlie, marylander1940 and BSR 3
mike carey Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Isn't it normal for the Treasury Secretary of the day to sign banknotes? I can imagine some audiences taking exception to it, but not the audience here. + Charlie 1
Luv2play Posted March 27 Posted March 27 It’s the president adding his signature which is also unprecedented for a living head of state. + Charlie 1

I believe the signatures of dead presidents are easy to find and use . Some of them signed the Declaration of Independence after all and all the others signed many documents of state. Otoh, living presidents have not up to now claimed the right to sign while they were in office. The Sec-of Treasury traditionally has signed. + Charlie and marylander1940 2

Which raises the question whether the $100 dollar bill is big enough to accommodate his signature. I remember currency bills in Europe in the 1960’s being supersized. I can see the same happening here.
