Let’s not forget 1980’s Catherine O’Hara on “SCTV”. Like Gilda Radner on “SNL”, Ms O’Hara had the ability to take sub-standard material and make it funny. She could be howlingly hilarious - remember “Lola Heatherton” and “Dusty Towne”? - or “English for Beginners”? - plus she and Andrea Martin - and Eugene Levy -  were amazing. Simply amazing. Then, along came “Beetlejuice” and then “Home Alone”, and then all those wacky characters from the mind of Christopher Guest. Then we were blessed by the Gods of Television who gave us Moira Rose. (“Stop acting like a disgruntled pelican.”) When the blurb came up on my news feed on Friday that she was gone the sky went dark. And I felt genuinely bereft. It was far too soon for her to go.

She was a Hollywood treasure. She caught my attention on SCTV, and I never stopped watching her. A very versatile actress. Could do comedy and serious drama. Her comic timing was pure genius. Thankfully, the role of Moira Rose really let her shine at her best. She will be missed.

I tried "Schitt's Creek", but just couldn't get into it......I know it's quirky and I'm good with quirky, but it just didn't grab me......

however, the Christopher Guest movies O'Hara was in are a favorite.......

Give Schitt's more time. Started it twice.

It took me 4-5 episodes before I found it entertaining. The company chemistry had to be found, and once it was, I loved it. Moira was sheer madness covering a sweet, vulnerable core - her absolute specialty. We were lucky to have enjoyed such brilliant work from her for so long.

I totally agree with this. I made it through 2 episodes when it first started airing but just didn't like anything about it. During Covid shutdown I kept hearing more & more about it so I decided to give it another try. I fell in love with the characters and was heartbroken when the series concluded. I was so happy for the performances and writing to get so much recognition by the end.
