The Kink Scale Test (online)

I found a kink scale test online.  You can take the test here.

The whole test is just a short string of statements where you pick from strongly disagree to strongly agree.  It only takes a couple of minutes to take the test.  I think a high score on the test means you are a person who likes kink at some scale but if you took the whole population of FetLife or Recon they’d all score 80+ and there’s quite a range of degrees of kink beyond the threshold of “are you a kinky person.” 

Importantly, the test and scale was not developed as a formal scientific project.  It’s not part of a published study or peer reviewed.  So, take the results with more than one grain of salt.

Anyway, here’s what I scored:

Wait a minute.  It looks like the Kink Orientation Scale (KOS) actually does have some scientific research behind it.  Dr. Liam Wignall of the University of Brighton developed it.  You can see the published article here.

Interesting that so much seems to be bound up in shopping. I’ve never had an issue buying sex toys.

I did the scale backwards the first time by accident, and scored a 10 out of 90.

I spent the whole night thinking, how fucking kinky are you freaks?

I scored only 55 out of 90, which makes me wonder exactly how they define "kinky." I expected to be asked more specific questions (like, "Are you turned on by a hairy ass?")

It seems to be grading up to a point where they label the person as kinky but doesn’t differentiate between someone who likes to dress up in a french maids outfit and be tickled from someone who has an extreme castration and amputation CNC fetish.
