Yes, "peer reviews" should be conducted in the utopian world, but in reality, they are not necessarily completed in all cases and they are not necessarily useful either.  You have to put a lot of faith and trust in someone whose identity is covered / under disguise.  For instance, I won't be too surprised if you tell me there are providers here on CoM who have multiple aliases/accounts to post positive reviews of themselves (as clients so as to bolster their profiles).  The same can very well be true on RM.  This issue has been discussed ad nauseam on this forum.  Just imagine how ridiculous this scenario can be: a prospective client is contacting another "fake" client (who is actually the provider of interest) to discuss the hiring experience......

It's a common practice, especially for non-premium users who can't read full reviews. But you're overestimating how much due diligence clients do when they're horny. Plenty hire only based on profile photos and stats.

"Full reviews," means the written reviews. I can only see star reviews for providers, not the written ones.

Being unable to read the written portion of reviews isn’t tied to membership level, it’s based on your location.

And yes, I completely agree most clients don’t bother doing much due diligence.

You may be surprised how many potential clients use a VPN (perhaps more so in here where VPN/overseas access to those reviews has been discussed from time to time) or who are not in the US will have read your great reviews.

On the other hand, you’d be surprised how many clients don’t even know written reviews exist on RM. Let alone how to use a VPN to actually read them.

Recently, I’m corresponding with a young man in South America that I’m meeting next month and he didn’t know that US ip addresses couldn’t see the comments.  He was about as shocked as you are now learning of their existence
