I've helped my regulars or guys I hoped would become regulars with advances for specific needs.  I paid one guy's expenses for a summer study abroad (tuition was paid by a scholarship) which I got back in services in the fall, another was a photographer who got a big job for which he needed some specialty equipment so I paid him for half a dozen sessions in advance, etc.  I don't think I would ever pay in advance an escort who I hadn't met, though.  Too big a chance of being scammed.

So an update for all. On here I checked. For his user and found a few things. One included booking and bit showing. On rent men & masseur remotes for both all 5 star but as of this year. Nothing prior…. So I’m up in air about it all

Sounds like your big head knows advancing the money is a bad idea, but your little head is whispering, “C’mon, what could go wrong?” Trust me, we’ve all been there and we all know how that story ends; usually it’s with your wallet a lot lighter and a lesson you didn’t really want to learn.

I recently got taken advantage of by a provider who posts regularly and is well-liked on this site. I never met him, so I should've known better. 

After giving him multiple deposits, he blocked me on here and RM. However, I primarily communicated with him on this site.

It made me lose trust in this site. Also, this provider has befriended some of the more popular clients, so I'm afraid to post on his personal thread.

Why would you give him "multiple" deposits??? You're indicating that this person is a regular on Company of Men, and did this to you?

I know you're no fly-by-night guy on this forum, so what you are letting everyone know is rather disturbing and disappointing. One would like to think that the good providers on here could collectively be honest and trusting. 

I completely understand you not wanting to call him out, and if he knows that he did this to you and wants to divulge his side of things, I'd (and everyone else following) be curious what the deal is.

I take responsibility for the foolishness of my actions. I realize it takes two to tango.

I felt sorry for the provider because he was going through some things. So, part of the giving was altruistic. However, I believe he led me on to a certain degree. After all, he gave me his word that he would meet me. It has been several months since then, and he has cut off all communication.

I'm conflicted about the situation. I don't think he did it with ill intent or any maliciousness. There's a vast difference between a good guy down on his luck and an outright scam artist.

The fact is that he IS malicious - he's blocked contact with you when he knows he owes you. That is being a scam artist, which is horrific. It isn't comforting to know that you may not be his only victim, but again I'm quite disturbed that someone people shine in a positive light on here is so cruel. A lesson learned, for sure.

First:  Name names on the deposit blocker.  I have a good relationship with many escorts and if it turned out to be one of the guys I know, I would speak with him about it.  This action is unprofessional and should be called out.  I would expect the escort to deny it publicly, but perhaps there are others who also stayed silent tha would support you.

As to the deposit, if you are prepared to lose it, then do it if you are so inclined.  That you posited this question here, my take on that is you want to do it to be a nice guy but you realize it is a bad idea.   

Unless the debt is to a loan shark, most legitimate bills can wait a few days if one is in contact with the one to whom he owes the money.  Even utilities will hold off closing service if you tell them a check is in the mail but may appear later than the end of service date.  He urgency is not your issue and a bargain is only a bargain if the other party upholds it.  In this case, there is little recourse for you if he does not.  Caveat emptor.

Sometimes people can’t pay back loans on schedule because of unforeseen circumstances.  But if this guy is still advertising and booking appointments there is zero reason he can’t work the debt off.  You prepaid for a service, he needs to either refund the money or provide the service.

There is a vast difference in these people how? I see everyone's actions thru intent, and even if they didn't intend to hurt you directly, they intended to come up by any means necessary. At the end of the day they are not a good person and you have taught them that it's ok to take advantage of other people, you probably weren't the first and likely won't be the last.

Every scam artist starts off as a good guy, until one day they decide it's easier to make rules then play by the rules that already exist. How many people does one need to scam before they become an artist?
