So sad. He was one of my top favorites on Sean Cody. I found out he'd had a rentmen ad but only after it'd expired.

Why’d they have to make an obituary (of sorts) and then put his mug shot up?

I think we all hope that our favorite stars “graduate” from porn and go on to finish college, start a successful business, settle down with a wife & kids … but it rarely turns out that way.  R.I.P. Jamie.

Because it’s an easy way to frame his life through the lens of shame instead of humanity; a reminder that some people still see his work as something to be punished for rather than a life to be honored.

But that had a hint of vengeance - almost like they had a falling out when he quit

I found an obituary and gofundme online. He died of fentanyl, leaving behind three kids. It is a tragic loss. It also explains the mugshot. Addiction is terrible and turns otherwise wonderful people into someone else. Let's try to keep in mind who he was and how any one of us can fall into addiction.

You think wrong, then.  I don't hope that my favorite porn performers are all straight, and I don't hope the gay ones "settle down with a wife & kids."  I get your sentiment -- that once a performer leaves porn that they have a fulfilling life.  I just don't think that necessarily means having a hetero-normative life.

I was horrified by the mug shot (shows how drugs can really ruin one's looks), and maybe it was included as a cautionary example of "don't let this happen to you."  Still, obituaries, if they include photos, generally just show the deceased in some healthy state, not when they are at their worst.

I don’t think he looks bad in that mugshot. Although the beard is a bit out of control.

Damn. I must look like the Crypt keeper if you consider that to be "ruined looks". 

A shave, tan, and a haircut and I don't seem much of a difference though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@caliguy and @Lazarus made me take a second look at the mugshot.  I agree, with a shave & haircut, mugshot Jamie would look pretty good.  I think what struck me was the stark contrast between his beautiful smile during his SC heyday and the sad (empty?) look in the latter photo.

There were recent photos posted elsewhere online, and he retained his good looks.

He posted a pic on another forum on May 9th, 2024 and in my opinion he looked good in that pic.

In my opinion it's weird that there are no vids with him anymore on SC, for example Randy passed away in 2022 & most of the vids with him are still on SC.

This is so sad to read.

I actually had some correspondences with Jamie in 2023, where he told me stuff about his life (recent divorce, fear of losing his children, how he had to give up a good production job he had for many years in order to move to another state and stay nearer his kids)... I even sent him a bit of help, figuring it was worth the gamble in case it might help a guy whose life seemed to be falling apart, knowing that maybe I was being played (though I don't think so... he even sent me a photocopy of his driver's license to prove it was him.... he seemed so desperate but sad at that time... told me he was on RM but didn't want to be... and shared some personal stuff about his family.).... God knows, I enjoyed his porn a whole lot, so the gamble, in the hopes of doing good for him, seemed the least I could do given his situation.... He was so grateful, sent me the nicest note afterwards... never asked for anything again.... 

I always wondered what had happened since, so it's really tragic to learn that things got only worse and that he really fell off the deep end. On one of the legacy sites, his family posted numerous pictures of his life, as well as from the celebration of his life; so sad to see the whole span of pictures, from bright smiling kid to handsome young man to a smiling worker at the production place to dad of three beautiful kids... while knowing how things ended.

Hope he R.I.P.
