Hooters — famous for dressing its waitresses in tight-fitting T-shirts to sling wings and beer — could be going belly-up.

The casual dining chain is preparing for a potential bankruptcy filing as it works with creditors on a plan to restructure its operations, according to Bloomberg News.

This doesn't surprise me.  It really should have folded back in the late 90s or early 2000s.

I had a friend who was looking into that "breasturant" business model.  He learned that Hooters, Twin Peaks and the other chains like that don't have "waiter or server" jobs.  They advertise and hire "models who serve" which allows them to consider looks during hiring.

Tallywackers was a restaurant in Dallas, Texas that was intended to be the male equivalent of Hooters. Tallywackers featured male waiters in tight hotpants and often shirtless. The restaurant closed in August 2016.  I never managed to go there during the short time that they were open.

I always thought that a chain called PECKERS would have been fun. Serverboyz wearing bike shorts, tight crops. (A woodpecker logo, obvs)

Menu highlights would’ve included several items made from zucchini, sausages, cucumbers, and bananas, providing decor themes.

That’s actually an outstanding idea.

See I was thinking "Packages" with the staff in UPS garb...

The chain restaurant, founded in 1983 and known for young, attractive, big-breasted servers and bartenders, closed forty 'underperforming locations' last year (in Rhode Island, Virginia, Florida, Kentucky and Texas) and what's left of the company is now preparing for bankruptcy.

Hooters closed approximately 40 locations last year and owes $300 million in asset backed bonds
