I was expecting to see a Black escort. Isn't C_Dawg a name that a hardcore Black rapper may choose? As no one is commenting on the cognitive dissonance triggered by someone so White picking up a nick name so Black, I am wondering...

Is this another example of my bad English, knowledge lags on US culture, and hypersensitivity to racial topics?

It's the kind of name that was probably popular for rappers 20-30 years ago, but has since gone through the cycle of: Black people do Thing > White people think Thing is cool and start doing it > Thing is no longer cool > People start doing Thing ironically

I think you much too easily associated the name with stereotypical Blackness.

Also, he may not be consciously trying to evoke “Blackness” by the name. “Dawg” may be used without this intent.

A white dawg -- but racially charged nonetheless.

Dawg may still be used without an intent to invoke stereotypical blackness- especially today among younger people.
