Interestingly, a surprising number of providers use VoIP numbers in their ads. Go figure.

It goes both ways. No two providers are exactly the same. There is no standard. I can’t represent all others.

Sometimes I contact providers and the messages don’t go through because they are using a burner app that censors explicit content. They don’t get the message so they think I ghosted them after exchanging initial uncensored messages. Meanwhile I think the same about them ghosting me, until I confirm they didn’t get the message and reword the message and send it again so that it will go through.

To some extent, numbers not specifically associated with an apple iPhone mobile device an escort might exclude, especially younger escorts. Think blue bubble vs green. This honestly makes no sense to me, but some guys operate this way.

Well, there is the old folklore that blue and green should not be seen without a colour in between. What more could one need?

I have to say that if someone is that far into the Apple cult, we're probably not a match. //sarcasm//

The only info on clients I share (I’m not saying where) is if he’s violent, refuses to pay or is a serial time waster (no shows).  I’ll share his number and the name he used. The number of clients I’ve seen is in 4 figures. The number of those who fall into the above category is 2. That’s because I screen them out but also because it’s pretty rare to get a client who is worth reporting.

I’m never going to share details of those clients who may be a bit annoying, who are challenging to see, who like unusual things or who share condfidences with me. All of those things are 100% between me and him. I certainly know clients who visit friends of mine who do this work because I’ve referred them to him or he has referred me to them or we’ve both seen the client in a duo session. However I never discuss with my friends what happens in my sessions with the client. We talk ‘shop’ of course but without naming clients. It tends to be on things like hotels we visited, whether it’s busy, where to advertise etc.

I think when you do this kind of work you realise that anything that happens between you and the client is specific to that situation. The client could behave differently with another guy. I had a client I could have sworn was 100% bottom but when I did a session for him with another provider the client topped us both. He was like a different guy.

That’s why I think references have limited value. If you’re thinking of hiring they give you an idea but the dynamics of the guy you’re hiring and you are only ever going to be particular to the two of you at that time and moment. If one person has a bad experience sometime it doesn’t mean you will.

Some escorts will only reply to real numbers with (or without) information connected to the number confirming someone’s identity. Burner numbers and VoIP numbers do not make the cut. It signals that you have something to hide.

By the way, I believe some level of client privacy, anonymity, and discretion is a reasonable expectation. Not every escort is a model of good professional conduct. Therefore clients need to measure their risk tolerance in seeing different providers and about what they share and how much they share.

I do have something to hide - my real identity. 😂 I don't want to bump into a masseur (or escort) while I'm with my SO or any friends/coworkers and have them use my real name. While it's unlikely to ever happen, I have seen guys I've hired at least 4 or 5 times while I've been with my SO or friends over the years. They have always been discreet but I did have one masseur who got a bit obsessed with me a few years ago so I prefer to be cautious.

To be clear, we don’t need to know your real identity. Your concern is valid and reasonable. Most clients are fine. A minority of really bad actors cause us so much grief and that’s who we want so badly to avoid.

For some providers, knowing your real identity puts their concerns at ease because they can check it and make sure you’re not a bad guy. That’s where it stops. They are not out to call you by your real name in public or out you to your family or anything like that. You will hear about this kind of thing happening on the forums because it’s sensational and plays into your fears, your fight or flight response. The vast majority of providers would never do something to compromise you or your identity in any way. Our livelihoods depend on maintaining a good reputation. Such behavior would damage a provider’s reputation irreparably. The only thing we care about is if you’re safe, reliable, and respectful in your business dealings.

I’m thinking of a smaller cadre of bad actor clients. This client makes efforts to conceal his identity in hopes of continuing to mistreat providers while avoiding detection. We do our best to warn one another of the bad guys, but when they keep deliberately changing their numbers or other contact method, it’s more difficult for us to screen them out.

Bad actors:

hire services and refuse to pay

ask endless questions and never book

contact us for amusement

send us harassing messages

no-show for their appointments

cancel last minute and rebook their appointment multiple times in a row

haggle/low-ball us

stalk us

lack hygiene and refuse to correct it

use violence or threaten violence

refuse to take responsibility for their own sexual health

…among other bad behaviors

In addition to Mr Number, there are private message boards for escorts (gay and straight) to discuss problematic clientele.

Where are these discussion boards? I feel if they are allowed to slander us we should be able to see.

You're asking for rules in a highly unregulated industry.  That's not the way this usually works.

The boards and blacklists are by-invite only.  Not meant for clients and not open to them.

Ratemyclient.com. Only providers can make entries but clients can have a look at their profile on the basis that it’s important clients generally up their game. The content of the website is based on aggregated provider data from most of your previous hires once you reach 10 hires. Factors like did you show up on time, pay the correct rate (without haggling), have good hygiene, wear quality brand underwear…that kind of thing.

There’s also a performance score section which obviously is quite subjective but can also provide us with helpful suggestions (as in ‘work the nipples - very sensitive’ and ‘very tight hole, use fingers first’). This section is not visible to clients because we like to surprise clients by seeming to know what their hot buttons are.

For the performance rating clients are scored on a 0 to 10 scale based on their overall performance. If you think your rating is too low you can appeal, which usually involves attending a special session where 3 expert judges (they’re retired providers) will observe and give their considered opinion afterwards. This however would be binding so if you take the appeal option you do need to be on your A game in that session.

Finally there’s a pricing suggestion for providers based on data the website has about client’s net worth from credit score organisations. If you’re high net worth then there’s pricing recommendations for us so we can ensure optimum pricing. This obviously isn’t visible to clients but you’d probably aware that you’re wealthy.

Are you being facetious or is this a legitimate website and real thing?

I’m sorry, it’s my sense of humour. I’m British (our humour is weird🤪). Don’t take me too seriously when I post stuff like this. It’s just me trying to lighten the mood.

Weird? I would have said 'normal'. But you laid it on with a trowel this time.

Thank you! I’m usually pretty serious—part occupational hazard, part American, part New Yorker. I trust your posts and had no reason to doubt you as I read it (which is why I asked); I just didn’t have my guard up. I was also reading this in order—from you and Benjamin both answering the same question. He mentioned there are boards and blacklists, then you referenced a website, so I admit I was a bit confused.

It was funny! I truly appreciate your humor and the much-needed levity you bring.

I‘m just glad that when you checked out the spoof link I put in there you didn’t find a real client review website!! I didn’t check it before I wrote it. 🙂. That would’ve been ironic…
