RM not accepting Visa anymore!? What the actual f$ck?

I got a notice from Rentmen a couple days ago that my auto-recurring premium membership payment ($9.95/mo) wasn't accepted.....it did go thru last month after all the ruckus had already started, but not so much just now.....I carefully followed their instructions to update the card (don't want to lose my grandfathered rate, of course) and used a little-used MasterCard I had sitting around.....the payment went thru as I requested and all seems good.....will see if my Rentmasseur premium membership (same company as Rentmen) auto-payment is rejected in a couple days

Wow! It's crazy that Visa is allowed to dictate what constitutes illicit activity. I could just be using the site for the videos.

So this is why my membership failed and wouldn’t accept it when I deleted the card and tried to re-enter it.

It looks like RM is continuing to use Visa cards that are on file with an account, but is not taking me cards or refreshing expired cards.

It continued using mine up until last week. That's when I received notification that my Visa was invalid.

I had the same experience.  So today I entered information on a MasterCard and all went well.

That wasn't my experience.  When it came time for my monthly renewal with my Visa card on file which had not expired, the system would not accept it.  So I added a Mastercard and the monthly renewal went through.

That didn't happen for me and my visa card has not expired.

I'm not sure if anybody is checking this anymore. So I got a Mastercard account and it has plenty of room on it as far as credit goes and I tried to use it today and it was also declined. Everything that has been suggested which is appreciated in this forum has been declined. I wrote to them two days ago and I still have not heard back. Meanwhile my business is suffering. More like hemorrhaging and I cannot stand masseur finder. Overpriced and very restrictive and if rentmasseur goes Belly Up, guaranteed that the other site will Jack its prices up even more. Their premium membership is $400 a month which is insane. I really don't want to have to use crypto. Anybody else having an issue trying to process a MasterCard that is not a MasterCard gift card? Thank you very much

Yes, I setup a MasterCard to replace the Visa I had on file.  I logged in today and I’m back down to a free member. So I tried to manually renew. Wouldn’t work. I got a text from my bank telling me they rejected the charge but to reply “yes” to authorize. I followed through but my account is still sitting as a free member.  And to make this even more of a pain, the one-year renewal option isn’t available this time. What gives?

Well if clients and providers can't use any kind of credit card RM is definitely gonna be nonexistent before you know it.

RentMasseur’s webmaster got back with me and confirmed they no longer offer a one-year membership. Six months is the max. So I resubscribed and this time my MasterCard processed. I suspect the initial decline was on my bank’s side of the transaction.

It might have been declined because it was flagged by Mastercard as a possible fraudulent charge because it's a foreign charge.   I had this happen awhile back when I renewed my membership with a new card.  I had to call my bank to let them know I authorized the charge.  I then resubmitted my renewal and it went thru.

Forgive me for asking but I'm confused: what's bad about Masseur Finder?

Granted, they won't allow anything signifying you can do anything more than therapeutic massage, but I would assume it's another site that can draw customers for you outside of RentMasseur. So wouldn't advertising on two sites instead of one broaden your pool for customers?

I was also brought to this conversation when I went to go purchase a platinum membership boost and was told to switch to MC or Crypto. My card on file is a visa and is set on recurring charge and hasn't shown any signs of causing ad inactivity and is set to renew on the 14th.

Sidenote: you were getting $40 gold?! They told me tough and raised my rate even though I've been on the platform since 2016??

Yup, I just got a notice that my recurring payment couldn't be processed.  Typical of their lack of customer service, they didn't bother to send an email to their membership with a heads up explaining the situation, just an automatic rejection message when the payment cannot be processed on their end.  I suspect Visa cancelled them because of too many chargebacks.  I know rentboy was always terrified of this as well after a few warnings from the payment networks.

Same same same... I had let my ad expire for a bit. This month I decided to renew as I have some travel coming up, and got the same message that my Visa on file was no longer valid. Fortunately like @azdr0710 I had an old MC stashed away, so dusted it off and that went through.

If I had to guess, I wouldn't be surprised if Visa was trying to do some housecleaning in the face of their legal issues. If they're already being accused of being monopolistic, they may be particularly concerned about any other business activities that might come under scrutiny.

I have been a member of RentMen Premium for a long time. Yesterday I got a notice that my payment was backed out. I contacted their help desk and they only accept MasterCard or crypto now. I only deal with Visa cards and never use crypto. So I guess my membership will go away. Anyone else been affected by this?

Perhaps this contributes to changes in credit card company policies.  Additionally the adult content  industry is reportedly launching a campaign to push back against such policies.

Yes, I only have Visa and American Express, so I’m no longer able to subscribe to the site.

Good afternoon. I bought Bitcoin through Coinbase. I was finally able to send it to RM. It took a week from opening my Coinbase account and buying Bitcoin to send. It was relatively easy to do, but there were multiple steps and the one week waiting period. I hope that helps. Thanks.

Same s*€t happening to me.  3 days notice!  Crappy business practice.  Can’t get a Mastercard in 3 days or a Counbase account.  Especially weird they are allowing some VISA accounts and not others.  And those of you that got responses from RM, lucky.  They ignore me every time.

I was notified  by Rentmen that my credit card had "failed",   despite the fact I am nowhere near the expiration date and pay my card off each month.   I use a regular VISA card for this transaction and was told to either use  "Mastercard"  or Bitcoin.    I remember something about this last year and was told my card was fine since I have been registered as a provider on their site for some time.     I have no desire to open a credit card with Mastercard just for Rentmen.    For those clients and providers that actively use  Rentmen,   what have you heard and what do you use?

As a client what do we lose if we go with the basic membership vs. the premium membership?
