samhexum Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 Benji Gregory, a child star who played Brian Tanner in the 1980s sitcom “Alf,” has died. He was 46. According to online records from the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s office in Arizona reviewed by USA TODAY Wednesday, Gregory – whose full name was Benjamin Gregory Hertzberg – died June 13. A cause of death is pending. His sister, Rebecca, told TMZ – which first broke the news – that she believes Gregory was found deceased in his car in a bank parking lot near Phoenix. Gregory portrayed Brian on all four seasons of the classic sitcom. Before this breakthrough role, he appeared on episodes of shows such as “The A-Team,” “Punky Brewster” and “The Twilight Zone.” pubic_assistance, + Vegas_Millennial and thomas 3
+ BOZO T CLOWN Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 From WIkipedia: On June 13, 2024, Gregory and his service dog were found dead inside a car at a Chase Bank parking lot in Peoria, Arizona. Gregory was 46. However, news of his his death was not publicly disclosed until nearly a month later, on July 10, 2024, when the cause of his death was still under investigation. His sister said Gregory had suffered from depression, bipolar disorder and a sleep disorder and said he likely died of a heatstroke after falling asleep in his car. He rarely had more than a few lines to speak in each of the ALF episodes. He was an adequate child actor, but his career peaked about age 10. It was all downhill from there. Is it a bit of hyperbole to call him a "SHOW BIZ LEGEND"? Bozo - a TRUE legend - thinks yes. BTC + Vegas_Millennial, pubic_assistance, + WilliamM and 1 other 1 1 1 1

viewing ownly Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 I'll be an ultimate fish with this click-bait headline. Sam, you're now out-numbered 3 to 1 that neither Brian nor Alf are legendary. I'd put Alf right up there with the syndicated Small Wonder as forgettable, mildly amusing sitcoms. If you read about his post-acting life, he was grateful to move on from the limelight when the show was cancelled. Brian, too. + BOZO T CLOWN, samhexum, + WilliamM and 1 other 2 1 1

As for Lucky the cat, I can't remember a single appearance of the cat outside of the opening credits, where he is chased by Alf. I know he's mentioned in almost every episode, but my memory is he was little more than a sound effect from the next room. samhexum 1

samhexum Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 (edited) Legendary WALTONS actress Sian Barbara Allen has shuffled off this mortal coil at age 78. She appeared in the horror film You'll Like My Mother (1972) A THRILLER! proclaimed the commercials, starring Patty Duke, Rosemary Murphy and Richard Thomas. For this role, Allen was nominated for the 1973 Golden Globe Award as Most Promising New Actress. She later appeared in two episodes of the popular TV series The Waltons (1973) as Jenny Pendleton, an early love interest of John-Boy Walton (reuniting her with Thomas, who played John-Boy and with whom she had appeared in You'll Like My Mother the previous year). Allen and Thomas were themselves described as "together these days", and Thomas wanted Allen to play the Pendleton role. She played the title role in the 1973 ABC Movie of the Week, Scream, Pretty Peggy. Allen appeared on television series and miniseries such as Captains and the Kings; The Incredible Hulk; Ironside; The Rockford Files; Alias Smith and Jones; Bonanza; Kojak; Gunsmoke; Love, American Style; Columbo: Lovely but Lethal; Cagney & Lacey; Adam-12; and Hawaii Five-O. In 1974, she was the lead actress in the western Billy Two Hats, alongside Gregory Peck and Jack Warden. In 1976, she portrayed Anne Morrow Lindbergh in the television movie The Lindbergh Kidnapping Case, based on the real-life Lindbergh baby kidnapping/murder. Her last role was in an episode of L.A. Law in 1990, after which she retired from acting. Edited April 1 by samhexum to maintain the incredibly high standards he has established here
