Asking for deposits after a cancellation

Is it okay if the escort asks for a deposit after a client cancels hours in advance? How do feel about it? I'm genuinely curious.

I don't think that's standard, for escorts to ask. However, I personally send them something if I have to cut at the last minute.

I recall an escort who went off on me because he couldn't find his way around the city and complained about the cold, and said I should pay him money since he claimed he tried but couldn't visit me. But with that attitude, all he got from me was a block.

I wouldn't consider it an intuitive business model to try to get a deposit AFTER a missed meeting.

It's the reason you ask for the deposit beforehand.  It's incentive-based collateral to make someone keep their schedule.

If a client flakes, he flakes.  If the excuse is an understandable one, you make the call as to giving him another shot.

If not, you just move on.  I don't tend to dwell on those who have wasted my time.

It shouldn’t be called a deposit, because a deposit conveys the idea of service or products expected to be received. I would call it a cancellation charge or penalty.

In my case, I have delivered escorts’ donations at a later time after I have canceled appointments set it stone.  I don’t do it out of guilt but I just don’t want the provider losing income for the time he reserved for me.

If an escort offers a "deposit" to clients when cancelling last minute, they're free to do so and then ask that clients do the same in return. I highly doubt any escorts are willing to do that though

I dont understand. Do you mean he was going to hire you twice and cancelled both times…and now he wants another appointment so you want a deposit for appoinment number 3?  Bottom line: you can do what you want as long as the customer agrees to the terms.

I've only had to cancel an appointment with very short notice once. I offered to pay the provider whatever cancellation fee he deemed appropriate, but he declined, which I found very gracious of him. When we eventually met a few days later, I made sure to give him a substantial tip.

That is very gracious. However, long as people understand that it shouldn’t be “expected” for all providers to be okay with eating the possibility of a cancelled session.

Lot of times, people cancel/flake and offer nothing.

A few times over the years I’ve sent at least an hour’s cancellation fee to particularly sweet and engaging providers when I’ve had to cancel at the last minute. I felt I owed it to them and they were exceedingly grateful. When we finally met, it was an epic experience!
