Thank you to those who served or are serving in our military.

I'm not sure that 'happy' is appropriate for the commemoration of the end of a war, which Remembrance Day, Armistice Day, or Veterans' Day is. As is my custom, I will pause at 11am and listen to the Last Post, the minute's silence, and the Reveille that follows, on the radio. They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old, age shall not weary them nor the years condemn, at the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. Lest we forget.

And remember a wonderful friend who died in Vietnam

Temple University RotC  students  were on a. mission today in Philadelphia to meet old vets like me.

I only got one first and last  name

Be prepared for the chills if it is your first time to the Viet Nam Memorial or even if it is you 100th.  Those chills are there whether it is December or the dog days of August.

I did  go to Vietnam Veterans Memorial early on in early January.

Tunisia, Italy and France. 3 very difficult and important places I’ve visited.

I was so moved by my visit of the "National Cemetary" at Gettysburg in 2021.   So many have given and sacrificed.

I feel badly that I forgot to put my little flag up on Saturday. Both my father and my maternal grandfather were combat veterans. Last night I finished reading The Mosquito Bowl by Buzz Bissinger. Okinawa was such a meat-grinder. I highly recommend it.
