How realistic would an artificial intelligence and/or virtual reality experience have to be for you to use it for sexual gratification? Porn is a really crude VR experience, but maybe better stuff is on the horizon. Maybe:

You and your friend have matching fantasies but not the bodies/voices/etc to provide the sensory experiences. A good VR would fix that.

Or the full monte with both a life-like robot (or again, VR) to provide the sensory experience and AI to provide the persona.

I'd be game but will be long gone by then.

I dont think VR will ever be able to reproduce warmth of a human body and the smell of sex.

Unless human find a way to manufacture a soul, AI will never replace human sensibility. That said, some ppl really need to stop watching too many science fictions.....

Personally I don't think that AI is going to replace humans, especially in this type of activity. It might impact the porn industry since it's capable of producing visuals.

I believe the impact that it will create might be around misleading and false information. I can see misinformation, false reviews, and even law enforcement using more deepfakes to bust people, being the things that AI will be bringing to this industry.

A really immersive VR sex “experience” is not going to happen with the current state of the technology. Right now that’s limited to visual stimulation, unless you count complicated — and ultimately unsatisfactory — antics with various toys, including robots. Touch? Smell? The irreproducible physical sensation of penetrating or being penetrated by another human being? That’s going to have to wait for an implanted chip or some other device that can directly stimulate the brain to produce ALL the sensations that go into the sex act. Until then, I’ll continue to arrange my calendar around Vin Marco’s travel schedule …

Yes I was thinking the same thing. Definitely porn since you get very realistic visuals. Already they have AI technology that can replace one performer's face for another (like an ex or whatever). And porn could be very customizable with AI in ways current ones cannot. The face/body scanning technology that SAG is worried about could certainly apply to porn with no union protections.

In a weird way could AI actually encourage porn stars to escort to make more money?

Right now, Hollywood actors are on strike over protections against use of their image, name and voice to be used for AI-generated content. I'm not sure that actors in the adult media industry are unionized or united enough for that not to happen to them, so yes, I can easily see porn actors getting screwed (in a different way) by exploitation of their images, names and voices to generate content using AI and them not getting any gains from it.

I see that being a possibility, them having to use other means for income.

Like others said - no, there are too many sensory experiences you miss in VR.

It may be possible to combine VR with a sex doll to make up for some of that, but for a full sensory experience, you'd need a real, physical, AI-operated sex doll.
