The mintboys profiles are less detailed, and there doesn't seem to be much verification.  I think it occupies much of the niche that was left behind bycraigslist and backpage, a lot of the guys appear to be trying it as a side-hustle.  Escorts can post ads for free, and few are tagged as "premium" in my area.  There's also not a lot of overlap between RM and MB advertisers in my area, which might indicate the site doesn't generate great leads for the more professional providers.

It might vary more in different regions, but I don't think it's a good resource if you're not in the bigger cities.

Oh sweet summer child!

Yes, RM/RMass is effectively a monopoly in the US market.  That's why they've become pricy and inflexible.

After Rentboy was seized by the Feds and SESTA/FOSTA was passed there has not been any sites that have been able to establish themselves sustainably.  They either start off too restrictive and never get advertisers, or they populate themselves with unpaid ads or scrape other sites and make themselves useless for the clients.

Some sites like Romeo and Sleepyboys have better usage in Europe, but never get much traction in US side.  Other regions like South America and Asia have other resources that are more tailored for local conditions than RM.

And what is Hunqz???

It's another site based out of Europe, I think.  It looks like it's associated with romeo.com. The ads seem better quality but little traction in the US.

Last time I was traveling, I went through the Mintboys ads for my host city and must have texted 20 guys making inquiries.  Maybe three got back to me -- one admitted he didn't live locally, and the other two wanted me to Venmo their fees in advance.  Uhm, no.

What about friendboy.pro?   Does anyone have any thoughts on how it compares?

I haven't used that site much.  The ads are relatively sparse in the allowed description and photos.  The search options are also pretty limited, only by city with a hashtag filter.  I can see it being pretty frustrating in a bigger metro.

I tried Hunqz for a while, hoping to find an alternative or supplement to RM. But nothing but crickets… not much activity there in the US. Too bad since it looks like a decent site overall.

Friendboy.pro, from a client's perspective, is a bare-bones version of Rentmen. I've hired a couple of guys who advertise there. I've also seen crossover between RM and FB.

Curious how it differs from RMen. Insights appreciated :)

I find Mintboys to be full of profiles from guys who haven't worked in a long, long time. They acquired the remains of HourBoy, which wasn't exactly on par with RM, either.

Regarding a lack of competition to Rentmen, years ago there was men4rentnow.com, meetlocalescorts.com, HourBoy, and another whose name escapes me all existed alongside Rentboy. That didn't stop Rentboy from having more ads nor did it give them an incentive to create a better site. RM, et al, serve a niche. Typically, one does not find a ton of competitors for a niche business.

I have found a few guys on Mintboys to do video work for the slowteasinghandjob videos. But it's a hit or miss. So many guys don't answer, or if they do some have texted me and said I don't know what your talking about. I don't have a ad on Mintboys. They should charge to place a ad. That would clean up the site. It would remove old ads from years ago and bring a better quality of guys.

This  thread is really informative. I've enjoyed all the replies so far.  In my area there is an overlap of profiles from RM to friend and MB to friend. Not as much variety as one would hope, either.

I used mintboys twice. Or to be more exact, I contacted 2 guys on it. One never responded. The other was porn actor Tony Romero. I had a great time with him. So i say it's hit or miss.

Tony romero would be a dream...I have tried to contact him to no avail. you are a lucky lucky lass

The only person I hired from Friendboy was cheaper than RM, but extremely limited in what he was willing to do (no kissing). Nor did he see any reason to impress, since he was just there temporarily for money.

Unlike RM, Friendboy doesn't say if the provider is, say, willing to kiss, so you have to take time and contact them. And at least one Friendboy gave me a bad phone app review when I didn't hire him (I had that remark erased).

Mintboys is just a pile of sh!t. As others said, 95% of their ads are old and haven't even been used for years, and you're unlikely to get a response from them. It reminded me of SA in that respect.

Well sadly I only met him once. He stopped escorting shortly after we met. He was fun.

He did return briefly but it was at a time when I didn’t have much time to see him.

However, recently, I managed to reconnect with him. So maybe I’ll get to see him again later in the year.
