Use a Visa or MC, and it won't be as problematic. MikeBiDude

Amex tends to be extremely pro-customer when it comes to chargebacks, so this is a way for Rentmen to prove the charge was valid from the beginning. It's a PITA for sure, but it protects them on the back end. Luv2play

The card on file to pay for my premium membership is a VISA. They have charged it numerous times, but when I decided to sponsor an escort (for the first time) using that same card, which they already know is valid, RM sent me that BS message. + BenjaminNicholas

Jaroslav
I just got off the phone with Comcast. Needless to say, I had a poor experience although the problem was “addressed.” I’ll simply say this: whoever agrees to transactional service, the one receiving the service always makes out worse than the one providing it. You won’t convince me otherwise. Whether it’s $10/mon or $400/hr. The service provider always comes out ahead in a transactional interaction. The service recipient has to decide how much they’re willing to be taken advantage of. I will never pay RM as long as reviews can be deleted, regardless of cost or reason. The only reason I would pay RM is to review and since they’ve shown no qualms over taking down reviews, I’m not paying.
+ Snbrd
My credit card expired so I attempted to update. Same card # but new expiration date. In the process I noted that the charge would be 19.95. I emailed to inquire prior to seeing this thread. The reply was we "adjusted" our rates to 19.95. I was primarily paying so that an occasional review would benefit fellow clients. Much as I love my fellow man, I'm not paying an extra $120 a year to offer a public service. + jeezopete, + robear and HoseMaster 2
dbar123
The good news- I noticed that my current Rentmen membership fee is still $9.95 for the month. The bad news- I noticed just now that I am no longer able to view videos. To see the videos I’ve saved I now need to upgrade to a $19.95 plan. This is as good of a reason as any to cancel the membership and just stay free + Snbrd, + robear and HoseMaster 1
dbar123
To be charged $9.95 and be unable to view videos and semiprivate images….well it dors make me wonder what I was going to get for the money. When I went to revert to a basic free membership I noticed that it is no longer an option so I wound up deleting my entire account.

You just had to delete your credit card that's on file and your account would have reverted back to basic once your subscription expired.

RentMen is a clear example of blatant exploitation!!! If we think 20 bucks a month is gauging, and providers are getting hit worse, perhaps we should all look elsewhere. Is there anything we can do to make another site more attractive to all involved? Calling Adam Smith.

Is there anything we can do to make another site more attractive to all involved? Calling Adam Smith. Hunqz is already an alternative that's widely used in mainland Europe. Prices, last time I checked, were about 25 euro per month for the providers. They also have a free option for providers, but this does lead to quite a few flakes and fakes (but even RM has those). On top of that Hunqz seems much friendlier: escorts can link to their social media straight from their profiles while RM blocks this, even censoring the sites in the bio text through autodetection. Accounts for clients can be free but you can't see the explicit pictures. But that's easily circumvented by escorts having private albums that can be unlocked for anyone. I'd highly suggest telling your providers about this website and hopefully more business can come from there. RM is just truning greedier every day. But @azdr0710 said if you're on auto-renewal you should get the $9.95 rate so I stand corrected. That actually does make sense though. That until you cancel your auto-renewal you'll always get the $9.95 rate. They used to have an auto renewal annual rate for providers but, took that away some time ago~
Luv2play
I just got my monthly auto renewal and it's still $9.95 and I still have all the advantages of premium membership. So all good. MikeBiDude and BuffaloKyle
ChelseaWest
Thanks for this! I guess they, yes the anonymous "they", probably the Germans...need the money as a result of expensive oil and gas. Yes, a snide comment. Obviously "they" know many of us horny Americans will continue paying. I'm contemplating dropping the "membership".

+ DynamicUno
My account was still showing the upcoming renewal for $19.99 so i cancelled and removed my CC info from the RM site. I did the same with rentmasseur, too, just in case. They don't seem to be doing anything that justifies a 100% increase, they just know they're practically a monopoly and think they can charge what they like. + Snbrd and + robear 1

BuffaloKyle
I just saw they lowered the monthly membership price back down to $9.95 a month! They must have had too many people cancel like I figured. So if anyone is auto-renewing at the $19 a month cost you might wanna cancel that and resign up to be sure it doesn't auto-renew you at the higher cost. + robear
+ robear
It seems that increasingly RM providers include the whole package in their unlocked pix. (If ya got it, flaunt it I guess.) Really gives little incentive to pay for Premium (at any price point) when you can get most of what you need to know for free.
