Does anyone use Rentmen messenger?

I understand the new system. Theoretically the messenger system should be more convenient and easier but it seems like it is not as easy to get prompt replies. I had a lot of luck with the email system even reaching out to clients etc. There is a 10 person limit per day of new chats on messenger which helps to remove spam but I do think that the change has made it harder especially for people who may not understand a messenger system vs an email system. I also feel that it is harder to unlock and send photos now. Unless someone has a premium account they can’t access your photos, I liked the password gallery a bit more. I think over all it is still working but I do wish the messenger system was a bit easier to navigate

Agreed! They should go back to email/text as contact choices.

I tried contacting a potential hire and it was disastrous. I use a virtual connection for security reasons and the guy basically accused me of being a bot and told me to leave him alone. Said something about my connection being from a foreign country. I was thinking...this is exactly why I’d rather just text.

To which they inevitably reply with six questions, all asked via rentmen messenger.

Kevin Slater

I hadn’t thought of that. If I am not looking to hire that day I always feel like texting is wasting their time and sending via messenger would be better so they can just handle it next time they log in.

Sometime I am debating between 2 guys and a couple questions will be deciding factor for me. But knowing that the messenger is a hassle This gives me new perspective. And will switch to text

Tyler is a superb companion. There’s a couplee of threads and several reviews....

He‘s also the person who got me to use Telegram and Protonmail.

When I saw a Tyler and asked if I could leave a review, he asked me not to. I think he does not want clients to assume that what one client experienced it was another might. He was fantastic, though he did deny me one thing I really wanted "as it was our first time." :-( But he is very careful about security of conversations so he only uses encrypted sources. Man is a sweetheart and has beautiful feet!

Lately, my biggest problem with RM messenger is that some escorts are using it like Grindr, sending random, 'sup' type of notes that are basically a waste of time. Even a very professional auto-reply doesn't deter these idiots from attempting to continue a conversation. It's unreal.

Luckily, RM still allows us to block people who can't figure simple things out.

I've got it on iOS and Android, and the android app doesn't seem to work with notifications... which is lame.

I think my biggest issue is that if a potential client doesn't reach out via my phone #, they don't always check the messenger (unlike me who am constantly checking it), and the communication gets lost.

I was OK with the app at first but slowly I'm beginning to have my own gripes about it ?

If they're serious and they want to reach you they'll text you.

Agreed! RM IM it's encouraging effortless communications. If you click "enter" to type another phrase the message is sent, it doesn't allow potential clients to write anything close to an email.

They should go back to two choices of contact: email and cell.

Well this would be a completely surefire way to make me not hire someone a second time. What tactic is this? "I'm giving you a lesser quality service now, but if you'll hire me again, then I'll give you the full quality that you're paying for."

The reason I hire someone again is because they fucking blew my socks off, rocked my world and gave me a 1000% from the get go. None of this "carrot on a stick" bullshit.

Do you always make sure to give 1000% to others?

The intent of my original post was misunderstood. My point was that if a provider (of any service) were to imply he was giving me lousy service with the promise of doing "better" if I booked again, I would not book again:

The 1000% was merely an off-the-cuff verbal vomit.

Interesting. Before I stumbled upon this forum, a bunch of clients have used the messenger platform to ask me about my experiences of providers based on the reviews I have given. I use the messenger platform for mostly that and to demonstrate to the webmaster that contact was made with the provider as another step I take to ensure my reviews are not rejected. But yea, I would typically just first establish my initial communication on messenger, then text the provider for all the other fun details, have said fun, and close the loop by saying thank you for the time on messenger as evidence for the webmaster. As I am typing this, yea it does sound like a lot of work, but I don't mind it so far.

I'm surprised I hadn't commented here. Just wanted to toss in my experience: That app is garbage and no matter what configuration I use, it never sends notifications to my phone, so I'm always telling people (which is included in my ad) to text me don't use the RM messenger.

It's terrible. Even if it weren't terrible, I still wouldn't use it as I have no guarantee that the messages aren't stored on a server somewhere waiting to be turned over due to legal requirements. At least if I'm using SMS it's only my carrier and the client, and if I'm using WhatsApp (or your preference of really secure messaging apps), it's end-to-end encryption so only me and the client can read them.

PLEASE do not use the RM messenger unless you feel you absolutely have to.

Agreed but that’s different because you as a client don’t have your number openly displayed in your profile.

I think they should go back to email as an alternative. IM is just too lazy

Wise words!

Have you tried to disable contact by instant messenger?
