Frankly, just how many times must you express that opinion? We got it the first time you said it and that was a long time ago. It has been repeated it seems endlessly. Or are you purposely trying to sucker punch Daddy?

The Terms and rules say:

RELATIONSHIP TO REVIEW SITE

The Message Center is provided as a public service to the Escorting Community and is operated independently of the DaddysReviews site. The views expressed in the Message Center are wholly those of the members who post them and do not necessarily reflect the views, opinions, policies or procedures of the management.

Without the reviews, the message center doesn't exist. Same computer, Same "Mature Gay Man" maintaining it, Same person vetting the new users each day, same person excluding the spam robots each day.

Frankly Guy Fawkes I have never so much as implied that I would discontinue supporting this site. I would definitely like to see it continue as I enjoy many of its forums. However, as far as the escort site is concerned, I personally, would feel no great loss if it were to fade away and disappear.

Have you guys considered that if Daddy goes to jail for up to 20 years because of FOSTA/SESTA both sites just fade away and you're left with the Rent.Men reviews.

Next we should lament how facebook, instagram, & others are scared to publish anything that's the least bit sexy.

Sounds like your crying over spilt milk; Why not instead fight to have the FOSTA/SESTA repealed? I suspect that if the legal liability went away the original reviews would be back just as fast as they went away.

So don't support the reviews... Don't help the site evolve... Watch the sites continue to fade away... Just remember who to blame for it...

Perhaps you're reading something into the comments that isn't there. No one has suggested that Daddy should flout the laws and risk criminal charges. We are instead pointing out how the evolution of the review site has made it less useful to us as prospective clients and reviewers. I stop short of saying the reviews are useless, but I understand why others consider it so.

This is the key word: Evolve. If things don't evolve, they die.

Support money is only a piece of this and Daddy's Reviews needs to be a clearinghouse for not just male escorts, but gay travel as well.

I actually think it would complement the legacy of Hooboy quite well. HB never stayed in one place for too long and absolutely loved the ins and outs of LGBT travel. At several points, he had mentioned implementing more 'gay-centric' travel reviews into the mix, but never really got around to it. I believe Daddy asking for a wider variety of reviews is a very good thing.

Let's get him some new content, stat! :)

Well put and well reasoned. I recall Daddy saying he wanted to broaden the review site in that sort of way at the time he implemented the changes due to changes in the political and legal landscape(s).

I think the reviews are extremely helpful. Several positive reviews on DR means that the escort is very likely a good guy who is going to do his best to provide a positive experience for me. That's absolutely valuable. And when traveling I especially look for guys who provide more than just fun in the bedroom, but who are good dinner companions who might be able to show me some cool experiences in the city. And many of the reviews on DR describe guys who will be good at that.

I haven't done many reviews lately, mostly because I've been seeing regulars and don't know if it makes a lot of sense to write multiple reviews of the same guy. I did have one new one recently and he actually specifically told me not to write a review on DRs, I guess because he is a LMT as is worried about the implications of the site even though I told him I wouldn't write about anything that would get him into trouble.

But with trips coming up to Los Angeles and Chicago, I am sure I will be seeing some new gentlemen and sharing my experiences with them as well as any good venues I come across.

The FOSTA/SESTA laws, while incredibly stupid and harmful, don't detract what I look for in reviews. Any bedroom activity info, I would just get from asking a potential hire. I'd rather get info regarding pics being accurate, some insight into their general personality (is he kind or likely to be a dick) basically stuff that can be hard to discern over texts and even a phone call.

I'm going to have to stop reading this thread now. :(

It hurts too much to continue, I think I'm going to go walk in the desert.

If I wait long enough, I'll see the hunters moon, perhaps I'll be back after.

In the past, many reviews were essentially poorly-written gay erotica. They described, often in blistering and exhaustive detail, the reviewer's impression of what transpired. If the reader was into exactly the same stuff as the reviewer (or wanted some JO fodder) the reader was in luck. If the reader was into different stuff, the review was pretty much useless. One can still write a comprehensive review of the escort and his business practices by including the following:

  1. Did the escort show up on time (or reasonably on time)?
  2. Does the escort look like his pictures?
  3. Was payment requested up front?
  4. Did the escort delivered what was promised? (doesn't matter what he promised, just that he did it)
  5. Did the escort show up high, stoned, drunk, or otherwise impaired?
  6. Did the client feel comfortable with the escort?

I recall reading a very detailed review of a long-retired escort whom I had hired several times. The review was rather fantastical, so I asked the escort about it. He told me it was complete fiction, but the client was an extremely nice guy and he didn't want to insult him by correcting the client's telling of the session.

If you don't write reviews, the site will fade away, as @Guy Fawkes mentioned. Why not simply adapt and evolve? We expect straight people to adapt, evolve, and accept us for who we are so why can't we do the same with the review site?

I'm not all together certain that reviews as they must currently be written/censored are particularly useful/valuable. About all that is allowed is innocuous information such as: 1.) is he or is he not on time, 2.) is he or is he not a nice guy, and 3.) does he or does he not look like his photographs. Any description of his performance skills is strictly forbidden. I used to write reviews of every guy I met now I never do. I simply state here in the Deli that I has a great experience and if a reader wants more information to PM me. I’m convinced that the recent rapid drop in the number of reviews submitted is directly related to the limitations imposed on those reviews. Frankly why bother?????

The reason to bother is to put your stamp of approval on these purveyors of flesh and emotion. It is not that hard to find a roundabout way of saying or suggesting something. I for one do not see it as a superfluous action writing reviews especially if a great experience is provided. Sure some might find it silly or confounding depending on how you write it but it shows how great or not so great was the encounter. The review can be so great as to start it's own thread lmao:D:D:D:D.

You stated, in better detail, what I did above. Those are the best reviews, imo.

I am stoned, sleepy, and not sure whether or not I am making sense. Good night.

I don’t smoke, but I’ve had a few edible chocolates and Marinol pills before. After ingesting them, many thoughts passed through my mind which I deemed quite profound. So profound, in fact, that I felt compelled to write them down to perhaps subsequently work them into the book I intend on someday writing. I didn’t seem to retain enough motor function to write down my thoughts in my ...heightened... state, so I said them aloud, recording them. I cringed the next day when I listened. There was no trace of profundity and the “astute” cogitations I thought I had were banal and obvious and borderline-ridiculous. I later learned that this was an experience shared by many. That’s not to say that your observations are completely without merit, but I was irresistibly reminded of it all, my quasi-stream-of-consciousness state, when you stated that you were “stoned” and didn’t know whether you were making sense.

Good times.

I’ve been using Daddy’s Reviews for only three years so I’m not familiar with websites and processes used in the less restricted past. Maybe current reviews can’t be as explicit and/or as titillating as they were in the past, but I’m grateful to those who provide their thoughts. They’ve by and large been helpful and I always look for them when I’m considering an escort. Some seem to conclude that because they miss those good old days they won’t share their experiences and recommendations for the benefit of others. That’s unfortunate.

Below is a review of mine from last year. I can't help but think that anyone considering the guy -https://rent.men/ArturVesely - would find it as helpful as I have found reviews by many others.

  • I spent a little over two hours with this intelligent and attractive guy and highly recommend him.

He is attentive to his client’s desires and clearly enjoys what he does. His skills are exceptional in the range of vanilla options I wanted, including lots of passionate sex and kissing, and tender cuddling. Experienced clients will appreciate the fact that he knows what he’s doing and does it well. Newbies will appreciate having an able and patient teacher.

In some cases an escort’s photos show defined abs while reality provides something softer, but this is not so with Artur. His six pack, and all other parts of him, are well defined (he works out every day), firm -- and hard where and when they should be. His photos are accurate, although I found him even more attractive in person.

Artur has a charming accent and is a pleasure to talk with. Setting up an appointment and communicating with him via text was a breeze with no complications. He made it a point to turn off his phone and never paid attention to the clock. I give him an unqualified A+ rating. Artur travels around a bit. Keep a lookout for him. I will be.

I agree. I have been following DR for a long time and before DR Hooboy's reviews. I still find the reviews quite valuable and consult them before I consider meeting a new companion. I also appreciate the forum and think both sites complement each other. It will be a sad day for me if there comes a day when there are no more reviews. @Guy Fawkes I truly appreciate everything Daddy has done to evolve and keep the sites going...

Before Hooboy started the review site twenty years ago, there was nothing comparable online (although there were a few escort reviews available in a little pamphlet that was published every so often, the name of which I can no longer remember). Without the reviews, this message board wouldn't have existed; it started as an addendum to the review site, because Hooboy was interested in discussion as well as reviews. The review section was what brought in the money to support the whole site. I wrote reviews before I discovered the message section, and there have always been reviewers and readers who were unaware of or uninterested in the message board. Because of the recent changes in the laws, it became prudent to separate the functions into two separate sites, which happen to be operated by the same person. I stopped hiring years ago, so I hardly read the review site unless there is discussion here about a reviewed escort.

I don't know whether fewer reviews are submitted these days because of the limitations that FOSTA regulation has put on what they can contain, or because clients are no longer interested in writing about their hires, or because they put all their trust in the rent.men reviews (good grief!). I do know that if the review site can't be self-supporting financially, this site will probably disappear, too, without substantial financial input from those of us who value it for its own virtues, apart from its heritage as part of a site about hiring escorts.
