I find it ironic that if someone caught a disease from a white dude, they would never ever make a mass generalization about white men. It just never happens. They’d just chalk it up as an individual experience. Other races don’t get that luxury.

Yes I'm certain it was from rimming. I hadn't done anything else that would qualify as a risk factor. I can't tell which escort I caught the bug from but if I had to guess I'd say one of the Brazilian boys I saw, just because of the poor hygiene they've got over there. It's a good piece to educate those who might not be aware of the risks involved in rimming, but I have to wonder how it is that a very sexually active gay man in New York City who is probably in his late thirties would have never heard about the risks of parasitic infections that come from rimming. He must have had his head stuck up his ass (pun intended) to have not learned that at a much younger age.

 

I, too, have had at least a few infections of this sort, but I think the last one was actually from my stupid use of tap water in Mexico to douche. Why I thought it made sense to squirt something up my ass that I wouldn't put in my mouth is evidence that I clearly wasn't thinking.

These sorts of contaminants can appear in first world water supply systems. In 1998, Sydney had an occurrence of cryptosporidium and giardia in the water supply. It's not clear where it came from, but possibly from cattle or sheep farms in the catchment areas. People were advised to boil water, public bubblers were turned off. There were no known cases of infections but it created a public emergency nevertheless, or more to the point a political emergency.

My first experience was not good - the dental dams I purchases were too thick and hardly had any sensation; go for the thinnest you can find (0.15mm). Since then I have gotten used to it and have improved my technique. It does take away from the experience, but I have not had any complaints! ??

I gave your comment a thumbs up because plastic wrap is better than nothing, but I don't believe it's ever been studied as a safe alternative to a dam. If you use plastic wrap, I suggest at least a couple layers since it's much thinner than even the thinnest dam.

Sheer glyde dams are my favorite dam for oral vaginal or oral anal sex. They are natural latex though, so don't use them if someone has a latex allergy.

I've never really been an "ass man" - not a part of the body I find particularly sexy, and anal sex in general has never thrilled me (I've tried it, and it's just not something I enjoy). I think we’ve all come across that friend at some point in our lives... a recurring, but predictable-sad story in-deed.

 

What’s worse now days is that people don’t realize that their behavior is risky.
