Hello,

I am a strictly top client and lean heavily towards the Dom end of things (not necessarily kink, but def. in charge); I click best with Subs or submissive bottoms.

When searching escorts, I generally exclude guys who list as Vers/Top, my interpretation of Verse/Top is "will bottom if I really have to".

I find chemistry is best when the yin to my yang WANTS to be in the bottom bunk, craves it, loves the role they are playing, the sensation, and serving.

Is my outlook here too limited?

I'm not running out of opportunities BTW by limiting my search.....

I think the vers/Tops are case by case. I too am a Top Client, and have found many verse escorts love the bottom bunk,but feel they limit themselves with the label.

Besides some escorts find easier to bottom others prefer to top. A frequent poster on here constantly complains about tops "Why doesn't he bottom?" Keep on hiring bottoms or vers! Some guys for instance won't hire someone who is a vers/top, they only hire TOPS.

All I know about that, or any other position preference, is that it means what the provider says it means at that hour on that day and with that specific client. It does not have the same meaning on Tuesday that it has on Saturday, when the rent is due versus when the rent is paid up, in March or in November, with me or with Epigonos or anyone else.

I’ve been with many vers/tops and tops who are very willing to bottom. I just ask, with something like “are versatile? I like to top” and often get a favorable response. I also kind of get a feel for the possibility by what they write on my profile before I ask. I don’t ask those who are adamant about being strictly top. Those who say yes are often quite good at bottoming, and I think are often better than some who only bottom. i used to list myself as vers-top because i have occasionally enjoyed bottoming but it has mostly been a case-by-case basis where the chemistry just works that way. i am hired as a top most of the time, but when i started to get some disappointed folks when i didn't promise i would bottom, and explained the case-by-case thing, i realized it was probably misleading based on how the average guy seemed to interpert that, so i changed it to top. i've bottomed with clients, but it's a once a year kind of thing, and i realized i wasn't giving the best picture of what i can commit to versus what i might aspire to

To the OP. I can’t stand the “versatile/top” label. It’s just confusing. As we’ve seen

it can lead to confusion and frustration (aka “fertile grounds for hustling”). I’ve learned

to just ask or state my preference for the top bunk directly. In my experience most

escorts answer honestly when asked directly.

 

I’m glad Eric changed his label to “top”. If we met and I was expecting him to bottom,

it would be disappointing not to get a chance to fuck him (while he was doing poppers

and moaning “fuck me daddy” over and over. Not that I’ve spent hours and hours

dreaming about it or anything....grin) and I would most likely take it more personally

than I should.

 

If you put the word “versatile” anywhere in your ad, then I assume asking you to bottom

is fair game. Granted, you might say “no”...but then I would just move on to an escort

that’s a better match.

I will be forever confused as to why some people find this confusing. When I encounter tops, vers tops, vers bottoms, and bottoms, I personally have zero confusion about that person's role based on these various labels.

I have found that guys who label themselves Versatile/Bottom when the times come to it are only a bottom unless you put a gun to their head. I would suggest either just put Versatile and be versatile or just put Bottom and love bottoming.
