This is perfectly legal, but it’s presumptuous to show up at a random party uninvited and tell people not to take pictures.

Kevin Spacey 'showed up uninvited to college party in 2015 and spent the night trying to swap cell phone numbers with male students' and ignored girls who tried to speak to him, says eyewitness

  • A student at Towson University recalled the time Kevin Spacey showed up uninvited to a party on campus in 2015
  • Spacey allegedly spent the night talking to young men and ignoring women who tried to speak to him
  • He also tried to swap phone numbers with the men at the party according to the eyewitness
  • Spacey spent a lot of time around the campus while filming House of Cards
  • This happened a year before he allegedly groped a teen at a Nantucket bar in July 2016

? Nothing wrong with liking younger men but it’s odd for a celeb to show up at a college party uninvited. Can you imagine if a male celeb showed up at a random sorority party?

Nothing wrong but. You are better than that.

I’m unsure of what you’re getting at. IMO it’s pretty jerky to show up someplace uninvited and then impose rules on people. I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree.

Forget all that, where can I get one of those jumbo pink penis water bottles?

Mardi Gras in NOLA next 2 weeks of course. Also Big Ass Beers (Huge Butt Mug)- $5. Penis is a Big CockTail, also $5.

See ya at Oz and Bourbon Parade (I don't admit going to Corner Pocket)

Of course disagreeing is perfectly fine, but I am surprised you do not see my point.

You are contributing to the stigmatization of older men into younger guys. Apparently KS has been abusive and should be held accountable for that, but there is nothing wrong about crashing college parties and trying to hook up with as many guys as possible. Kudos to him for that.

Obviously I don't know the specifics of this party, but unless it's clear that the young men were open to such an approach I think he was out of line. There is nothing wrong with age discordant relationships but objecting to what Spacey did as stigmatising such relationships is an extremely long bow. Going uninvited into a room full of strangers at basically a private party is problematic although not unacceptable. His behaviour there, as described, is to me the use of a power differential (his status, not his age) to pressure young men to give him their phone numbers. He seemed to have one objective, and that was not to socialise in the hope of getting lucky. He's not 'just anyone', he's a celebrity. In that context, predatory and unacceptable as far as I'm concerned.

That is the reason why I carefully worded my post saying that @FreshFluff is "contributing", and not stigmatizing. I did notice the difference of status. My point is that the age difference remains, and depending in context it could be implied that every older man trying to hook up with younger boys is morally condemnable. If KS actually abused someone or many guys, criticize him for that, which is condemnable beyond age, status, or any other consideration.

I concur with your assessment here @mike carey. Spacey refused to come out of the closet for years despite the open secret in Hollywood that he was gay. Admittedly, he was concerned about his career as many gay actors have similar situations. It’s the lifetime of predatory behavior that makes Kevin Spacey a reprehensible human being.

This is not the only story about his creepy behavior in public and private. Some years ago he was in DC for a film shoot. He would visit JR’s on 17th Street and would hit up every young guy in the joint. He was half drunk by the time he arrived. A friend witnessed his behavior of staring at guys to the point of making them uncomfortable.

Spacey didn’t come out of the closet willingly and has tried to spin the situation to play victim in some respect. Spacey has become a pathetic figure. It’s unfortunate that a man of such talent has fallen into disgrace.

Writing that @FreshFluff is contributing to stigmatization of older men into younger guys is bizarre. She posted another example of KS at his worst.

This sounds like something I would have (inappropriately) done when I drank ? while I wouldn’t have gone in uninvited....I would have hit on the guys

Exactly. And not everyone at fraternity parties is necessarily a college student; a few may be high school students visiting friends.

This is like saying you shouldn't criticize a male murderer because you're contributing to the stereotype of violent males.

Posted
Not at all. You are making an equivalence between violent men and older men who are into younger ones.

No I was making an analogy, saying that it was saying you shouldn't criticize someone for doing something inappropriate because it shares some other characteristic with someone who ISN'T doing anything inappropriate.
