Paragonya Sauna Zurich

There have been some negative reviews of this place, even by those who accept its mandate as an escort spa. However, I was pleasantly surprised a few months ago over a few days in Z. Not a huge selection of my type but always enough to keep me happy. I had about a half dozen encounters with gorgeous hunks, Czech or EuroBrazilian, among some of the most attractive I have met over 30+ years of hiring, donating no more than 100 francs each. This quality would be 2.5-4X the cost in my city. Nice facilities in a beautiful setting in an old and upscale quarter. Also a lot of hot ads but I did not need.

I'll be back for 5 days Oct 29th. In June when I was there it was almost empty one weekday and full and great the next day. It's exceptionally clean and modern. (It's also $37 to get in.)

Extra clean (people go barefoot) with big fancy towels.

The bar area is popular with locals as a hangout.

From their photos and from my memory I do believe smoking is allowed/tolerated at the bar on the first level. It is not sealed off.

There are apparently ban bylaws in Zürich but I think some establishments get around it by having a designated smoking area or by arguing that they have a non-smoking area. Technically, PWSpa likely has a 90% non-smoking area but some 2nd-hand smoke may circulate. There is no outdoor zone.

If it is a deal-breaker you should email them for a clear answer. But wording is everything since they may not want to to have a digital tracer indicating they are in violation. Remember they also have a sign forbidding commercial sex trade because they do not have the required Swiss license for prostitution services. Smoking may be similarly 'don't ask, don't tell'.

I have just been reading comments on this sauna on the Boytoy site. Not wildly enthusiastic. If I go it will be in mid summer, any comments based on recent experience and what could be expected in mid summer appreciated.

It's been there for a while and has maintained fairly well. I hear that when the hustling bar was next door there were more guys, and sometimes it is completely dead. But usually it's about like in the photos above crowd-wise. Of course at any time it could be taken over by Brazilians and/or Romanians and/or Czechs could disappear. It could also close since it's in very expensive real estate. Just check here and BT just before your trip. I'll be there March 12 for 1 day.

I had heard it was unpredictable but I went a few times in late Spring last year and met some dreamy Czechs (a 1st for me) and hunky Brazilians (I visit Brazil frequently). I prefer muscular model types; I am very picky about looks ... I do not get horny and seek general satisfaction; the sight of a guy has to strike me first.

I am not sure I would have a repeat of the same good fortune. It was a bonus considering I loved the sights in Zürich and Basel.

I am lazy, a big skeptic about photo ads, and would not have pursued URL-site-based escorts but there were a few nice ones 'on paper'.

Update anyone? Best time of day? Is shift change still around 3:30? How much is the current asking price for the guys. My experience 3 years ago was great. I meet a perfect cezch guy.

Any other advice? also there are a couple hotels very close does anyone have a favorite?

Just visited yesterday and had a great time. I was there mid-afternoon, and there was a good mix of guys at the shift change. The place was spotlessly clean (like most of Zürich), and the vibe was very low-key.

I can highly recommend the Scheuble Hotel next door if you get a competitive rate. It's is high-tech newly remodeled and beautiful and trendy. Much better than the 3 star it gets. I've been in worse 5 stars. The two women at reception can be a little unhelpful but otherwise an outstanding place.

I once got a senior rate of $200 at the Marriott but I doubt you'll get anything close to that normally. It is a high rise on the northend of old town with amazing views from the high floors (40 floors high)

Could you please clarify the name of that hotel? I can’t find it in Google or TripAdvisor.

I’m sorry but that’s not the way I read it. He is referring to a hotel named Schubele next to the sauna and compares this hotel to comparable hotels in the city.

@sydneyboy I think @tassojunior was referring to the Hotel Scheuble in Zurich. (And I think @Rob was talking about the sauna). If I’m wrong, I’m sure @tassojunior will be along to set these matters ‘straight’ ;-)

Sorry, I misspelled the name. It's Scheuble. It's still rated 3 star, and still priced as such, but just finished a complete high-tech remodel that to my mind is close to a 5-star boutique hotel. Similarly-priced hotels within a block of Paragonya are more ordinary but clean.

One note on hotels in Zurich: taxis and Ubers are outrageously expensive and not very good. So you will actually spend more staying in a cheaper hotel in west Zurich or other close areas. (If you can manage the trains the high-rise Swisshotel in the Oerlikon neighborhood was also a decent experience. It's across the street from a train station and the main station in Zurich is not far from Altstadt, the main area. In summer Altstadt can get outrageously expensive).

Just to clarify. In Europe hotels receive stars based on the services and features. Not on their quality. Many 2-3 star hotels are wonder but with limited features.

I remember you saying that but at least in Prague there are several 5-star hotels with very limited features or services and a few that are no where near 5 star.

Prague may be outside the part of Europe that had the feature based rating system.

Yes, I know France is very tough. The thing in Zurich is there are several hotels just a block up from the Scheuble that are also 3 star (like the Basilee) but not as nice and the 3 star Alexander on the other side of Patagonya that is much more expensive but not as nice. The Scheuble is a class or 2 better but comparable or lower price. Why we Patagonya guys like it.

Scheuble was perfect and I found the room rate to be very reasonable. The breakfast was extra and extremely expensive, though top-notch and bottomless, but I only had it once because I eat very light in the morning and customarily had coffee in the room and grabbed something simple from the Minagro Express three doors down (adjacent to Paragonya).

All main sights were walkable.
