This may have been discussed before but didn't show up when I searched. Apologies if it's a rehash.

Recently I was having pillow talk with a provider and he asked if most of the RM guys are Bi or Straight. The question surprised me until I looked around and noticed quite a few escorts who list themselves as Bi. Has anyone ever performed an analysis on RM, old Rentboy, or Friendboy to find orientation broken out by percentage?

I suspect that some escorts listed as Bi are really Gay but lean toward masculine. If clients are looking for Bi/Straight, then a little false advertising might bolster business. For others, Bi may mean "attracted to men but not overly feminine". The inaccurate self-identification would skew the data, but I'd still be interested in seeing the breakdown. Has anyone taken the time to do a count for a city or noticed any trends over time?

There are so many weird ideas about Gay equating to feminine, and feminine being weak. For my personal choices, I'm more interested in energy than labeling. I am curious, though, about the decisions escorts make in presenting themselves and if that's influenced by their own opinions - or what they think appeals to clients.

I enjoy the massages of gay men more so than that of bi men. They from my experience are more free with their hands, which I love going to private places. Truthfully, I've never gotten a massage from a straight man, and have no intentions on doing so. The gay men who have massaged me are not at all feminine, and certainly aren't weak.

Advertisers will tell you even if they indicate they are bi, the frequency of a woman requesting a massage is nearly non-existent to never, with no repeat business.

I believe that the inaccurate self-identification you've pointed out skews the data so profoundly that it would be impossible to draw any conclusions. In the real world, outside of escort ads, men have a host of honest, internally conflicted, and outwardly postured reasons to classify themselves as bisexual. Add to that the reasons that an escort might choose to apply that label to the persona he's creating for an ad, and it may as well say "ask me".

If an escort lists himself as straight I have a few questions that I may or may not pursue. Any of the others (gay/bisexual/ask me) all read the same, for me.

Harry I think you have it a little backwards. Most label themselves as "bi" yet are straight guys getting head and dont want to piss off gay clientele so " bi" is their label. Ask them if they have sex or head from gay dudes for free and their answer will usually be " hell no". I have gotten this from response from many escorts.

What I find interesting is that the same escort will say "bi" on his rentmen ad, but "gay" on his planetromeo. I've seen this happen about two times now and it gives me pause. I don't contact guys that label "straight" or "ask me".

I actually like it when an escort may have a bit of flamboyancy about him, 'cause that puts me at ease. But that's never happened. The guys I've met were sort of inbetween on the feminine-masculine spectrum with most of them having a bit of a shy streak about them.

(Sub)consciously I will look for guys that identify as gay, because that helps my fantasy of them actually wanting to spend time with me for more than just the money. Or them actually enjoying themselves.

But yeah, bi pops up enough for me too to have noticed it.

I've met escorts that list themselves as bi in order to create a more masculine persona. I've also recently met more than one escort advertising as straight in spite of a clearly gay lifestyle including circuit parties, gay buddies, and/or a committed live-in male partner.

Interesting. I may ask a few that question.

Ugggh, :(

I don't care what people are privately, but when you're putting yourself out there in a profile, for "basic fundamental" characteristics, at least have the courtesy to be somewhat accurate!! Haha

The "ality" part is the innate desire one has. Whether that is sexual desire, intimate desire or romantic desire. Homosexuality, heterosexuality, bisexuality.

Other than that it is the performance of an act. There are many many guys in porn now that fuck the shit outta guys, get fucked yet will state they only date women. There is their real desire. So in my book they are bisexed, heterosexuals.

If an escort gets head from a guy for money, never does it without money involved and blows up his phone with his girlfriend, he is heterosexual...period.

Just my $.02.

If all the G4P's who list as "gay" on Romeo actually were we wouldn't have to worry about gay rights; we'd be a majority.

In Europe it's common for them to list as gay because they offer gay sex. It's not their sexual preference, it's their product.

In the US we have this hang-up liking to do "str8" guys so most gays list as "bi" to appeal to all potential customers. A few even list as str8 to directly appeal to that niche.

Guys who don't do much just don't get repeats so there's no need to list "st8" to indicate not doing much.

Sometimes the purse comes out of their mouths... Nobody would ever buy some of them are not gay.

as for providers, specifically, and their ad's stated "orientation", I really don't pay attention too much to that.....a "straight" guy I met a couple or three years ago has been married to a guy now for about a year......I presume the dudes who claim "straight" are most likely to be fudging the truth, followed by those who claim" bi", then those who say "gay".......no surprise, I suppose......

as mentioned here before ad nauseum, the best strategy is to communicate your specific hopes for the meeting beforehand and see if the provider will reply honestly with his limits, if any....

Maybe RM should add "Rough Trade" as an orientation choice. That might clear up some confusion.

TWO ESCORTS CHATTING IN A HOTEL BAR

Escort 1 to Escort 2: "Hi, you gay/bi/straight?"

Escort 2: Straight

Escort 1: Cool. Have a girlfriend?

Escort 2: No, a boyfriend. You have a girlfriend?

Escort 1: Yeah, I'm straight-straight.

Escort 2: Oh...you're Trade.

I go to a straight guy here in San Diego, and he touches me better than any gay guy massage therapist ever has.

Honestly, I really don't care what someone classifies as, as long as we both enjoy the time.

However, if I break it down as to how many of my regulars are gay, straight, or bi... most of them classify as bi. They have never told me anything else but they were bi. I also have the strongest bond/friendships with the bi guys with maybe 3 or 4 exceptions (3 stating they're gay and one straight). Each one of my regulars, save one, state their preference in their ad (when they had an ad). They all... gay, straight, or bi have been phenomenal and we always have an amazing time.

On a tangent, in our many discussions, most of the bi guys have said as they've gotten older, they have become more attracted to men.
