ATM withdrawals are horrible and the money rates and fees vary widely. The very best in Prague is Excgange Praha next to the post office off Wenceslas Sq.Best rates and zero fees. But long lines most times. Certainly for purchase transactions it is Visa/MC/AE that set the exchange rates, and yes, for ATM withdrawals the ATM owner sets the fee (your card issuer may absorb those fees for you). As far as the exchange rate for ATM withdrawals is concerned, my understanding is that it is your bank that determines the exchange rate you are paid, not the ATM owner. They absorb all the costs. Excellent rates on ATM withdrawals. And they are everywhere, a truly global bank. If they don’t have a presence somewhere, they have an agreement with a local bank, like in Brasil, they have with Bradesco. They are also very accommodating, I have checking accounts and cards with them in 3 different countries. I have paid them nothing at all, not a single annual fee for any of my cards or accounts. I realize in Europe where prostitution is usually legal there are rules about working as a foreigner without permission. The guys run into this issue sometimes in Switzerland. In the US that sort of work is illegal and we have "masseurs". There is little to no enforcement of work permits or taxes. At any rate they are just guests of mine paying their own way over and I am in no way involved in their activities. Yes, Dominik and Pavel are the only ones I never met out of the traveling Czech group that includes Zdenek, David, David's brother Danny, Mate and Fillip. I was actually friends with Pavel when he was 18 on Facebook but he ended social media. Dominik has always been traveling when I'm in Prague or Zurich although one time Zdenek told me he was a few blocks away when I was with Zdenek. I was too polite to say I wanted him while I was with Zdenek. Learner's mistake.
