I remember back on the American version of QAF Brian once considered buying flowers for Justin but passed.

And now on the Brit soap opera "Hollyoaks" after gay couple Ste and Harry had a row Ste brought Harry flowers.

Just doesn't seem to be a guy to me thing regardless of sexuality.

I don’t mind. My mother hated them saying “what a waste, they just die and then you throw them away”. Partially in reaction I always have fresh flowers in the House.

Rather than cut flowers I once gave my mother a "Wandering Jew"

When I was in 2nd grade I walked to and from school. There was a woman on the way who had a nice rose garden. They were 25 cents each. Sometimes if I had a quarter I'd stop and buy my mother a rose. The kind woman often gave me a second one free.

I never thought about it much until one of my favorite escorts actually gifted me with a dozen long-stem red roses for our first Valentine's Day appointment about 6 years ago! I was extremely touched by his gift, since I'd never had a boyfriend who celebrated Valentine's Day with me before, ever! Since then, that particular escort and I have always gotten together for the VD holiday (yes, I pay him his full fee for the session!) where he brings me flowers and I give him various gifts, like tight ass-less underwear, or high-end gourmet truffles/chocolates! It is just one of the thoughtful things he has done that makes being with him continue to be extra special for me.

No one has ever sent me flowers, and that's just as well.

However, if someone sent me a nice houseplant, however small, I would *love* it.

Sadly, it would probably be dead within weeks, but I'd enjoy it while it lasted.

I understand! When I moved to this apartment my step-mother gave me a plastic green plant in a basket.

I like this post. Well in 2004 after my first surgery of my life, except when born and I was 50, my regular escort friend sent me a flower basket, but I've never received flowers and you know, I'm 65 and that disappoints me..

Wait. You were born when you were 50? Must have been the world’s longest pregnancy.

While flowers are expensive short term items, beautifully fashioned flower displays can add to the overall elegance of any party. Toward that end, for my wedding, we spent so much on flowers that we could have bought a small car instead. That may be overkill, but I have gotten more mileage out of the memories of that day, including those flowers, than i could ever have gotten out of a car.

I like to see flowers growing in gardens, but I don't care for cut flowers at all. It could be because I have never had success with green-thumb challenges (cacti scream when I enter the room).

I have never been given flowers. Memories of flowers take me back to my childhood. My mother had 5 sister'. When eah of them were married the family would gather at the grandparent's farm house and the smell of the wedding flowers was overwhelming. I've never experienced that wonderful scent since, even when entering a florist store.

Years ago I had a houseguest and I allowed him to bring his puppy, who was cute as hell but very rambunctious! It got on my nerves since I’m such a neat freak. I allowed my friend to use my car while I was at work. At the end of his visit he picked me up at work and my SUV was freshly washed. After kissing him goodbye I drove home to find a huge bouquet and a thank-you note on the kitchen table. It was really super.

I once randomly sent flowers to a boyfriend’s very public and very gay place of business.

I happened to be on the phone with him when they arrived.

His shocked, tearful, and heartfelt reaction was priceless. Of course, later he was “mad”

at me for causing him to show those emotions in front of his very butch and hunky

co-workers....but it was worth it.

Send flowers!

sorry my writing wasn't up to your standards, no I wasn't 50 when I was born, my first surgery was at 50 so for clarification purposes.

Before my now former partner of many years became a nasty evil violent drunk he used to send or bring me flowers for occasions - and sometimes for no reason other than he knew I liked them.

That was during the good years . . .

Only once I received flowers from a guy. This was someone I was just starting to see. It was a big surprise to arrive home and see the flowers at the front door with a note. Not something I had ever expected and I still relish the surprise at ever getting them. At the moment I laughed because I saw it as breaking tradition...
